Laos and Thailand are surrounded by mountains and rivers, and their tourism styles are very similar. Although the traffic in Vientiane is not as developed as that of Bangkok, the Buddhist style here also attracts many foreign tourists, especially European and American tourists.
Vientiane, also known as Vientiane, is the capital of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, the political, economic, and cultural center and largest city in the country. Laos is located in the middle reaches of the Mekong River, with a population of 900,000 in 2018. It is across the river from Thailand’s Nong Khai and is one of the few capitals in the world located near the national border. In 1563, the king of the Lancang Kingdom moved the capital to Vientiane. After the Lancang Kingdom was split, it became the capital of the Vientiane Kingdom. In 1827, Siam destroyed the Kingdom of Vientiane and Vientiane was razed to the ground. In 1899, French colonists repaired Vientiane and confirmed it as the official capital of the protectorate.
