After all, the Maori are the original natives of New Zealand, the history of New Zealand's culture and art, more or traditional Maori art. Aboriginal Tuyu, abalone shell of the crafts are their typical representatives!
If you are interested in the art of Maori and other parts of Oceania, you can visit City Gallery Wellington. In addition to Maori art, it also exhibits some works by local Wellington artists. Tickets are free, there are some very good exhibits, of course, special exhibitions are charged.
The art museum is behind the town hall, there is an art exhibition, I am not very good English, follow the guide can only understand one tenth, especially the first floor Maori artists' works, only the words and words feel and our ancestors said the world chaos is a, and then life is born in the life of three three things. The difference of national culture is too big too wonderful. The second floor has designed 100 strange art chairs, both art, can only appreciate not practical, but can not use the design of it to do what, I think is to expand the human thinking space.
Wellington City Art Gallery, located in the center of Wellington, three floors of English style architecture, has no character in itself, the different colors on the outside walls make the whole building feel multiplied, the gallery mainly displays the culture, art of the whole city of Wellington
First time in Wellington, the leisurely town life is a must, the evening after sunset is a breeze blowing your face! It is an art show center representing the whole city and if time permits, make sure to go!
A great place to call in and see some examples of local artists' work. We ended up buying a piece from one of the artists and had it signed. Great place to spend some time.
