What travelers say:

A nice day in Wellington, Wind City. On Sunday, we took two or three friends for a walk on the Brooklyn Wind Generator Hill. The first wind turbine we went to was in Brooklyn, and it took a narrow windy road to get there from the bottom of the tarot to the top (about 3 1⁄2 hours). It was windy and there were some sheep farms nearby where cattle and sheep ran freely. You can park to view the farm and the surrounding coastal areas - quite cold scenery. Infinite scenery is on the dangerous peaks, and probably due to the altitude, the top is still lush and green. The path has a lot of steep places you need to adapt. The closer to the top, the louder the wind turbines and the volume becomes, and the sound of the wings pacing through the air is very sour. The view from the top is beautiful! You can even see the South Island and Wellington Channels. Another wind farm we went to was located near Makara, which was characterized by a large fan load, which was larger than the previous installed power. You can even take a detour to see the beach and feel the strong wind. The wind turbines, the "loved idol" of Wellington, were almost demolished by the power company because the cost of maintaining a single turbine was too high. Eventually the Wellingtonians came together to save the lonely wind turbine, which has become the "mark of Wellington". Wellington's wind turbines can be accessed by walking or car, but the experience in either case is amazing! It's like the redwoods in the virgin forests of North America, some big enough to be cute, and can also pass through the middle of vehicles and crowds like a natural gateway. If you're having a picnic I suggest you bring enough water to drink, the three-hour trek is still very difficult. If you are going to the hills on the south bank, I suggest you choose a good weather to visit this place. However, if you want to go, then Kaukao Mountain can provide a better view! The view is wider and the scenery is more beautiful. Tips: 1. Put on hiking boots and jackets (the wind is too strong on the top of the mountain) 2. Put on sunglasses and do a good job of sun protection.
