What people are saying:

The old site is located on Jiangxin Island. In 1876, the "Sino-British Yantai Treaty" added Wenzhou as a trading port. In April of the following year, the British consul settled in Wenzhou. In the 20th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1894), a three-story western-style building was built as a consulate. It covers an area of 1309 square meters and has a three-story brick-wood structure. The surface is 14 meters wide and 11 meters deep. There is a main ladder in the small entrance hall in the middle, with six rooms on each side. The facade adopts a voucher-pillar verandah, clean water walls, and windows with brick arches. In 1895, a two-story building was expanded. It faces south and faces 11 meters wide and 9 meters deep.
