What people are saying:

Although it is on the outskirts of the famous Sussex Red Desert, it is still a great place to watch the starry sky at night. This hotel is mainly used for transition before reaching the desert scenic area, because there is only one hotel in the entire national park and the houses are very tight. Therefore, most tourists generally choose to settle down here and arrive at night. It is almost late at night, but when they get up the next morning, the surrounding scenery is still amazing, red clouds are all over the sky, and the distant sand dunes are flickering. Now, like a mirage, the dead branches that have stood for thousands of years are still resolute, and the magic of nature is truly amazing. See the world freely

    Off the Beaten Path

My husband loves trains so this was a great place to spend a couple of hours. Easy to walk to and we were the only ones there.

    interesting bit of history

Not really a museum as such but some interesting old engines outside. Inside there are old photos (mostly in German) showing what it was like in the 19th centrury.

    A stop-off!

Lots of interesting coaches etc. on display outside of the station. Could do with a spruce up on the actual station - especially now that the Desert Express is running again.

    Trans Namib

An interesting little museum close to the railway station. Lots of rooms full of equipment and historic memorabilia from Namibia, focused on rail history. A nice way to pass an hour.
