About Wuchuan: Wuchuan is a county-level city administered by Guangdong Province. It is located to the northeast of Zhanjiang City in the province’s southwest. Wuchuan is a small seaside town abounding in coastal attractions. Scenic coastal areas include Jizhao (“Auspicious Omen”) Bay and the Wuyang Golden Coast. Cultural attractions include the Jipu Pavilion, the ancient Zhiliao Harbor, and the Meilu Ancestral Temple. Wuchuan is also known for its “three supreme” folk arts: piaose, a processional display involving participants dressed up in elaborate costumes and seeming to float through air over specially constructed carts; clay sculpture; and the construction of unique covered bridges called huaqiao (“flower bridges”).
