A Buda protected by a dam
We spent the night in Huangyang and in the morning went to visit the Tiantishan grootes. It seems that there is a bus for going there that you can take in the intersection between the road G312 and the village, but we couldn't find it so we took a taxi.
The price of the taxi is 50 CNY for going there and 50 CNY for comming back. You can ask for it in DiDi.
We arrived there after 25 minutes of trip more or less and took the ticket of the scenic area. The price is 30 CNY per person. The place is really beautiful, the reservoir was full of ice and the picture was beautiful. The Buda is impressive and big. It has 15 meters.
You can only visit one of the caves but only for the Buda and the landscape it is worth seeing.
Tiantishan Grottoes is located in Dengshan Village, Zhonglu Township, 50 kilometers south of Wuwei City, Gansu Province. It was built in the northern Liang Dynasty during the Eastern Jin Dynasty and the Sixteen Kingdoms Period. It is about 1600 years old. Tianti Mountain Grottoes is one of the earliest grottoes in China. It has an important position in the history of grotto statues in China, and has the reputation of the originator of grottoes. The
Tiantishan Grottoes are located on the embankment of the Huangyanghe Reservoir. The blue waves are everywhere, the sky is high and the sky is wide, and the snowy mountains in the distance are faintly visible. People can't help but admire. In the desolate and arid northwest, there is such a place. Great view.
Stepping into the range of the Tianti Mountain Grottoes, the sights are the blue-yellow Huangyanghe Reservoir, the path leading to the grotto, and repaired on the water. The Big Buddha Temple is currently the only cave open to tourists. Such a statue of the Seven Buddhas is rare in China.
The two Buddhas of Sakyamuni Buddha are also composed of Manjusri, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, Guangmu, Tianwen, Jiaye, Ananda and other six statues. The shapes are vivid and different: Jiaye is an ascetic monk, so it seems to be more The old man is thin and thin; and the story of Ananda is the little nephew before the Buddha was born, lively and beautiful, and the posture in front of the Buddha is more relaxed.
In summary, the impact process of Chinese grottoes should be: Tiantishan Grottoes - Yungang Grottoes - Longmen Grottoes - Dunhuang Grottoes.
In the Tianti Mountain Grottoes, you can also enjoy the unique folk rap culture in Wuwei area: Liangzhou Baojuan.
The caves currently opened in the Tianti Mountain Grottoes are the seven Buddhist caves built in the Tang Dynasty. The entire cave is 30 meters high, 19 meters wide and 6 meters deep. The statues in the cave are all stone sculptures. Due to the nature of the Tianti Mountain, the grottoes are based on chisel-shaped, plastic-shaped, carved along the red sandstone wall from top to bottom, and then molded with mud. In the grotto style of the country, a cave of seven Buddhas is rare. The biggest Buddha among the seven Buddhas is the Sangha Buddha statue ------ Sakyamuni Buddha, 28 meters high, the left hand is flat on the knee, Purdue All beings, the right palm is facing forward, fearless of all evil in the world. The oldest and the youngest of the grottoes are the two disciples of Sakyamuni Buddha. The old one is Capricorn, the first of the ten disciples. Because he is an ascetic, the image is relatively old. The philosophical thought is deep. The opposite of him is Xiao An, the cousin of Sakyamuni Buddha, and the dictation of the Buddhist scriptures after the Nirvana. On the left side of the Buddha is Manjushri, who is in charge of great wisdom, and on the right is the Samantabhadra, who is in charge of virtue. The outermost part of the Buddha statue is the two guardian kings, the left side is the northern king of the multi-wisdom king, the right foot is stepping on the ugly little devil. On the right is the Western King of the Eyes, and the footsteps of the symbol of longevity. This Seven Buddha Cave is known as the No. 13 Grotto.
I like the cave culture very much. I feel that it is a very happy thing to increase my knowledge while traveling.

Maya Snow Mountain Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
The snowy mountain in the distance seems to be beckoning like me. The clouds in the sky cover its shy cheeks. It has been chasing it since the early morning. At noon, it still feels like it is near and far. With a cry, the whole mountain was filled with reverberations, and it was discovered at this time that he had already entered a beautiful scenery.
The passionate Tibetans danced between the snow-capped mountains and the earth, and they used dance to express their pledges for the distant gods. Passionate personality, chic and light dance, no one in my eyes can let them be in the world, everything here is similar to everything they belong to. The white Hada is their highest respect for foreign tourists. I saw the smiles raised by the corners of their mouths. I realized that they are so sincere.
Maya Snow Mountain is located in the west of Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County of Gansu Province, 35 kilometers away from the county seat. The annual average temperature is -6.5 degrees Celsius, northwest and southeast, about 45 kilometers from east to west, and about 10 kilometers wide from north to south. The Tibetan language is called Anita Zhuo, and the locals call it. Bailu Dashan. The main peak, Bai Yuda, is called Lun Bush in Tibetan, meaning the highest Mount Sumi, 4447 meters above sea level.
The magical horse tooth snow mountain, its charm, its momentum, from ancient times to the present, deeply shocked people's hearts. The scenery and legends on the mountain are full of mysterious colors, causing endless yearning for people. For a long time, people have legends of ancient stories. It is said that there are 108 Shenhu Lakes in the Maya Snow Mountain. They are distributed in the hills of the Maji Snow Mountain. The Demu Lake and the Ramlango Lake are the most famous lakes. It is also the Tianchi of the Mashan Snow Mountain sisters. The Mashan Snow Mountain is named after the horse's teeth. The ancients had poems and praises: "The tooth is made of silver and the bones are made of dragons." The magical horse-toothed snow mountain, the Tibetan people respected the mountain of God, he is in a variety of ways, the weather is different. From time to time, Jianfeng picked up, straight into the sky, awesome, and sometimes like a white crystal pagoda, flashing colorful light and sunshine. Sometimes a beautiful woman in a tulle, graceful and charming. There are snow all year round, the winter is relatively cold, the summer climate is changeable, the thunder on the mountain, there is a goose-like heavy snow pouring down in an instant, especially exciting.
Overlooking the sky, the snowy mountains of the snowy mountains are covered with silver, and the clouds are haunted like a fairyland its so beautiful! Le Jun can't help but want to share it with everyone, and enjoy it together!
Ma Xue Xue Shan is located in the west of Tianzhu County, Wuwei City, Gansu Province, 35 kilometers away from Tianzhu County.
The average annual temperature of Xueshan is minus 6.5 degrees Celsius. It is northwest-southeast, about 45 kilometers from east to west, and about 10 kilometers from north to south. The Tibetan language is called Anita Zhuo, and the locals call it Baiji Dashan.

The main peak of the Snow Mountain is called Bai Yuda, and the Tibetan language is called Lun Bush. It means the highest Mount Sumi, 4447 meters above sea level.
The Mashan Snow Mountain is located in the Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County of Gansu Province. In the strict sense, the Mashan Snow Mountain is not a real snow mountain. In the latitude of Tianzhu, it is difficult to achieve perennial accumulation in the mountains with an altitude of less than 4,500 meters. Snow does not change. It is said to be a snowy mountain, probably because its rock surface is mostly white in color and looks like snow at a distance, so it is called a snow mountain. Not far from a thousand miles really came to the foot of the snow-capped mountains, the snow-capped mountains are still partially obscured by the clouds, although we are still shocked by the majestic Ma Ma Xueshan. As soon as it looks up, it is a continuous snow-capped mountain. The white tower and the snow-capped mountains in the distance echo each other.

Wuwei City Kumarajiva Temple
Kumarajiva Temple is located on North Street in Wuwei City, Gansu Province. It was first built in the Later Liang Dynasty, and the tower and temple were greatly expanded during the Tang Dynasty, and were repaired during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It was built in memory of the Western Region monk Kumarajiva and has a history of more than 1600 years. It is a precious relic for studying the culture of the Five Liang, Han Buddhism, and Western Region Buddhism.
Kumarajiva Temple was built in the first year of Linjia (389) of the Later Liang Emperor Lv Guang to settle Kumarajiva's body and mind. He recruited craftsmen from all over the country and built it on a large scale. It was the place where Kumarajiva first settled in the mainland to preach and teach. Kumarajiva vowed during his lifetime: "If the translated scriptures are correct, the tongue will not rot after death." And left a will, after death, the tongue was buried in Guzang. In 409, Kumarajiva passed away, and the people of Liangzhou built the Rosh Tower in Guzang in memory of Kumarajiva, and buried Kumarajiva's tongue relics under the tower according to his will.
Kumarajiva (344—409), Chinese translation name Tongshou, is the first of the four major translators in the history of Chinese Buddhism, and the first person in the history of Chinese Buddhism to systematically and deeply spread Buddhist scriptures in Chinese, opening a new era in the history of translation. He studied Buddhist scriptures from a young age and had a deep attainment. The King of Kucha regarded him as a national teacher. Whenever Rosh lectured, the king and the public often knelt beside him, allowing Rosh to step on his back and ascend, and his reputation was very high in the Western Regions; in 386, Lv Guang returned to the east and brought Kumarajiva to Liangzhou. Since then, Kumarajiva has been preaching in Liangzhou, greatly promoting Buddhism, and has been living for seventeen or eighteen years; in 403, Yao Xing of the Later Qin extinguished the Later Liang and invited Kumarajiva to Chang'an to translate Buddhist scriptures. Kumarajiva has a deep research on Buddhist scriptures and is proficient in Chinese. He has translated about seventy or more scriptures and more than three hundred volumes, many of which have been passed down to later generations and have a profound impact on the spread of Buddhism.
The severely underestimated treasure city on the Hexi Corridor
✨
As one of the four counties of Hexi, Wuwei does not seem to be as well-known as Zhangye and Dunhuang.
But it's the place where you come without expectations and leave reluctantly.
There are many highlights in Wuwei. If you can calm down and explore and experience them one by one, what will be left for you will be surprises and expectations again.
👌Must-visit attractions:
📍Leitai Han Tomb
As the place where the symbol of Chinese tourism - "Horse Stepping on Flying Swallow" was unearthed, its influence cannot be underestimated. From the inscribed bronzes and the bronze chariot and horse parade, the scroll of Eastern Han history unfolds one by one, vividly reappearing~
📍Jiumoluo Temple
A thousand-year-old temple, with lingering Sanskrit sounds, its name comes from a Western Region monk, and this monk is the world-renowned Jiumoluo. He was the first person in the history of Chinese Buddhism to systematically and deeply spread Buddhist scriptures in Chinese, opening a new era in the history of translation. Here you can see the grand architecture of Buddhism.
📍Wuwei Xixia Museum
Although the Xixia Dynasty did not exist for a long time in Chinese history, it left countless precious artworks and many advanced production methods. The Xixia script created by Yuanhao and Yeli Renrong brought infinite glory to this history and this nation.
📍Confucius Temple
The location of the Confucius Temple is next to the Xixia Museum. Wuwei Confucius Temple maintains the "three-legged" overall pattern of temple and school integration, Wenchang Palace and Confucius Temple are different but harmonious, playing the dual functions of worshiping Confucius and imparting Confucian culture, and it is a key cultural relics protection unit.
📍South City Gate Square
This is where you can see the "Liangzhou" city gate. The evening wind does bring a chill, and if you're waiting to take night photos, be sure to put on a jacket. The towering city gate, the urgent sound of the frontier horse hooves, and the history of the wind and clouds seem to reappear one by one.
📍Desert Park
This desert park is more than 20 kilometers away from the city, but it is also worth exploring. Walk into the trail (you can also ride a sightseeing car), go deep all the way, the desert theme park is in it, there are streets, inns, shops full of Western Region style, it's great for taking photos and checking in.
👌Accommodation recommendation:
I highly recommend the Civil Aviation Travel Tianma Pearl Hotel, it's not far to take a taxi to various attractions, and the hotel surroundings are very quiet, you can take a taxi at the door, the internal environment facilities and services are great. The breakfast restaurant is bright and spacious, with a variety of meals, and the overall layout of the room is simple and clear, very user-friendly, I will choose it again next time I go to Wuwei.
👌Food recommendation:
In addition to the hotel's meals, the halal restaurants on the street near the Confucius Temple are really good, one of which I ate at for a whole day, with a rich variety of meals, a full range of noodles, rice is also available, beef and mutton are generous in portion, but I don't remember the name.
🍃
The trip to Wuwei is not over yet, I originally didn't have any expectations to stay in the Hexi Corridor for two days, but I didn't expect it to be the two days with the most memories of the whole trip. Not only did I meet the enthusiastic taxi sister who left me her phone number, the lame uncle who waited for me to take a ride outside the Desert Park, the handsome art student who came from Beijing to play and visited the Han Tomb together, and the Ma Haochen (this is the pronunciation but I don't know if the name is written like this) kid who was reluctant to let me go in the halal restaurant and called me auntie~ Full of memories, leaving a warm tone for this city.
Dear Wuwei, see you next time.
Leitai Park of Wuwei Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Ma Tiao Fei Yan is a symbol of China's tourist city. It is from the Leitai Han Tomb in Wuwei City, Gansu Province.
This horse is strong and sturdy, flying and sprinting, three feet vacant, heads up and down, and the right-footed foot is stepping on a winged and flying "Aeolus" dragon bird, which gives the horse a strong vitality and strong beauty. The copper galloping horse not only contains high artistic and historical value, but also has excellent casting skills, which is called the best in bronze. Above the
Han tomb, there is a Leitai view. This is a Taoist temple view. The building complex consists of more than ten buildings including Shanmen, Fengbo Yushi Hall, Leizu Hall, and Samsung Doum Temple. It is magnificent and has the architectural style and Taoist characteristics of the northern China.
Traveling abroad will always see familiar signs, horses fly swallows. Today, we came to Wuwei's number one scenic spot, and the Chinese tourist mark, Ma Tiaofeiyan's land, the Leitaihan tomb scenic spot.
Lei Tai Han Tomb is a national key cultural relics protection unit. It is the most representative Han Dynasty civilization site in Wuwei. It is famous for its unearthed Ma Tufeiyan, which has great artistic value and cultural value. Let me go in and have a look.
In September 1969, local farmers inadvertently discovered a large brick chamber tomb in the late Eastern Han Dynasty when they dug the bomb shelter under the Leitai. Although the tomb was stolen many times in the early days, the cultural relics are very rich. More than 20,000 coins were unearthed, and 231 pieces of precious cultural relics such as gold, silver, jade, copper, pottery and bone were all called by the Chinese cultural relics. "Underground Museum". After being unearthed, these cultural relics were transferred to the Gansu Provincial Museum, which included the famous horse-drawn swallows at home and abroad.
The logo of the horse stepping swallow can be seen in many places. This is a symbol of China's tourism. In general, the excellent tourist cities will place the sculptures of the horse-drawn swallows in the conspicuous places in the urban area. Ma, unearthed in an ancient tomb in Gansu, China.
Guangsu Wuwei, known as "Liangzhou" in ancient times, is one of the important ancient capitals in the northwestern region. It is the source of the cool, the cool, the south cool, the north cool, the big cool in this capital, the origin of the desolation culture. Ground. Here, the Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty was named after the military martial arts of the Han Empire. It is a historical and cultural city. The
Lei Tai Han Tomb is located in North Guanzhong Road, Wuwei. It has a long history of more than 1,700 years and is well known for its unearthed rare treasures. Ma Tufeiyan is a rare treasure and one of the first cultural relics in China that is forbidden to leave the exhibition. It is now in the Gansu Provincial Museum and is the treasure of the museum. The
Leitai Han Tomb was built in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. The tomb is divided into three parts: the front, the middle and the back, and the left and right ear chambers. There are 231 pieces of cultural relics such as gold, silver, copper, iron, jade, bone, stone and pottery. The most prominent in the unearthed relics is the casting of 99 pieces of bronze horses.
Ma Ting Fei Yan is also called Ma Chao Longque, which is green bronze. The horse is 34.5 cm high, 45 cm long and weighs 7.5 kg. The horse-shaped god is both lively and vivid.
The statue that I saw at the first sight of Wuwei Leitai was a copper horse. If you go further, you can see 99 pieces of copper horses that have been magnified 6 times. The head horse is stepping on a small flying swallow, which maintains the stability of the entire shape.
This copper running horse has a very nice name because of Guo Moruo's name: Ma Tingfeiyan. If you look closely, you can see that the horse is flying, but his eyes glance at the swallows under his feet. He seems to want to see what he has accidentally stepped on. The swallows under his feet also have a look back. They also want to know, yes. Who stepped on himself. Because the shape is too vivid, when it came out, it caused a sensation in the world. When it was selected as a symbol of China's tourist city, it stood out from the pile of entries and won the top spot.
Bronze horse Ma Yizhen's horse, the shape is very worth seeing, almost every horse is holding his head open his mouth, his chest is chest, showing a high spirit of fighting spirit, it is said that these horses are bloody BMW . The bronze horses and horses include 17 pieces of samurai, 28 slaves, 14 bronze cars, 1 bronze cow and 39 copper horses. When these bronze horses were unearthed from the tomb, the order had been disrupted, and the current arrangement was based on the products of various historical materials.
This ceremonial battle shows that the position of the tomb is extremely high, not only the soldiers, the horses, but also the cattle carts with grain and grass. The tomb No. 1 is the place where the copper horses are found. The owner of the tomb is about the late Eastern Han Dynasty. People, about 1800 years ago. The tomb of the tomb
2 cannot be studied, but from the geographical point of view, it should be the elder of the No. 1 tomb.
