Xishuangbanna is a famous tourism location in Yunnan, known for its magical rainforest landscape and unique ethnic customs. Xishuangbanna is the home of the Dai people. Because it is close to Buddhist countries like Thailand and Myanmar, the Dai people are generally devoted Buddhist believers. Xishuangbanna is dotted with Southeast Asian Buddhist temples and pagodas. It is also a kingdom for natural life, with a wide variety of animal and plant resources, many of which are rare and endangered species. Every year in April, the Dai celebrate their version of Songkran (or Water Splashing Festival). This is an experience unlike any other and attracts visitors from all over the world to join in and experience the fun.
E27***54Very nice garden located an hour from Jinghong city. The garden is quite big and there are electric car which can bring you from one to another. It’s quite diverse with a lot of trees, flower and very green. Worth going there.
茱丽叶although a bit scary, the cable car is an amazing experience. get the feeling of being immersed in the mountains of Yunnan province. then take a 50min walk back to the main entrance. don’t expect to see any wild elephant on the way, but you may run into some monkeys.
AmberIOWA lovely scenic attraction. Have the choice to walk or get a shuttle bus which will stop at each of the areas. once you are in the forest it doesn’t require so much walking or energy so I think it’s suitable for different abilities. The peacocks were beautiful, I have never seen them fly before. It was a little sad to see the elephant alone and in such a small fenced space, I could tell that the elephant was also very sad. The views and scenery are very pretty.
Grace_cytGo in the door first by boat, get off the boat into the main scenic spot. Scenic areas can see a lot of plants, the most distinctive is the tree, because the tree is very high, to look up, so called the tree, feel that the tree is very helpful to the cervical vertebra, haha. The more characteristic section is climbing stairs to the jungle, the jungle high, looking out and overlooking the jungle, this section is interesting, but the friends afraid of heights is a bit difficult. Also visited and learned about a natural phenomenon called strangulation, which was especially interesting with the guide. It takes half a day to wander through the whole scenic area.
自由行省钱侠客See so many comments on the Raiders, in Xishuangbanna Dai Nationality Park, participate in the water splash festival interactive program, why not one person mentioned this Raiders "skills", this is very helpful to "poor travel" people. It is to prepare a small plastic basin in advance in the price of one or two yuan, otherwise, the organizer prepared for "30 yuan Renminbi rent one", I hope this review can help people with hearts. No, "throw" is OK.
The park had 2 sections, the first part includes a long wooden walk way eventually arriving at a cable car entrance. The cable car then takes you back to the park entrance. You may see elephants along the way however like zoos and other animal parks, I'd say its best to go when it's cooler so very early morning for more chance to see. Or ask the park when the most active time is for the elephants. We didn't see any at all when walking to the cable car. The cable car was expensive (2 per car, 50 Yuan each) and we waited for some time to use it but there is food nearby to keep you busy while you wait. I also believw that you can take the cable car up to the top and walk down if you prefer, it seemed to be quieter coming up than going down. The second part of our trip was the 'Research Centre' around 5km further away. We were able to see elephants up close and walk wirh them.
Incredible resort, feels like a new European city, fairly quiet at the moment which means more relaxed. Stunning views over the golf course from my room. Free bicycle hire, hot springs, I believe, are chargeable. The staff were all excellent here. The room was spacious, clean and well stocked. Mini bar prices were very reasonable. My only problem was the quality of food in the restaurant in the evening. It was very expensive for what it was. I wouldn't eat there again. Having said that, the breakfast was excellent, probably the best International breakfast I've had in China. Stayed for 2 nights which I could have stayed longer.
Quite small but beautiful space to spend an hour or 2 relaxing, taking photos with the pagodas, meeting halls etc. There's a small restaurant area where you buy nice ice cream, juices, coffee etc and then relax on the grass by the lake while locals take photos in traditional dress. Very clean, well presented park.
Xishuangbanna in Yunnan province is definitely one of the most unique and colorful destinations to travel in China. After spending fantastic time in Xishuangbanna in August, it was easy choice to choose Xmas holiday destination for this special time of the year. The nightmarket, elephant valley, all the little cafes, South East Asian food, minority handcrafts are all worth to visit Jinghong city! #holidayvacation #merryxmas
You get that forest feeling when you reach the end of the park using battery cars which transport you from feature to feature. The peacock show was brilliant with a short theatrical performance, music and dancing. The performers were great. Then the most peacocks you have ever seen descend on the platform. Brilliant. Then you can take a battery car (50Yuan for return) to a small village (mostly shops but some traditional clothing, tools etc), a waterfall, bridge etc. There is also a small 'zoo' (like a petting zoo). The elephants have a very small space and some of the animals seem in not very good condition. The monkeys were happy though. Then further on you can walk in the forest, goes in a circle, or pay extra to use the walkways high in the trees. There's also an aquarium at the park entrance. We'll worth a visit and you could spend a few hours there.
So very Thai. This place even had Thai 'Sois', an endless mine if intertwining streets full of small restaurants, tea shops, clothes shops, market stalls and of course, the famous night market.
Beautiful Yunnan province. Great food, friendly people and warm even in the middle of winter. plenty of cultural sights, night market and temples along the Mekong River.
