Five Officials' Temple is located in Haikou's urban district. It is a cultural relic and monument to the culture of ancient Chinese eunuchs, to Hainanese history and culture and to traditional architecture with Hainanese characteristics. The temple was built to commemorate five famous historical figures from the Tang and Song Dynasties who were banished to Hainan Island. The most famous building at the center of Five Officials' Temple is a two-story structure built entirely out of redwood with green roof tiles. Surrounded by lush tropical greenery, it is an extremely solemn and beautiful sight.

Sugong Temple is located to the east of Wugong Temple (Temple of the Five Lords). It was built in commemoration of the great writer Su Wu from the Northern Song Dynasty. Here, there are relics left by Su Wu, such as the Twin Creek and Dongzhuo Pavilion. It is a garden-style backyard. Qiong Garden is on the left side of Sugong Temple. Inside, there are relics of Dongpo, such as Fuli Creek, Liquan Pavilion, and Xixinxuan. Liquan Pavilion and Xixinxuan are above Fuli Creek. Apparently, these two sites were constructed separately by Ming Dynasty's Weng Ruyu and Qing Dynasty's Ye rulan, due to the influence of a poem by Su Dongpo.

Xiashan Catholic Church is the main Gothic church in Zhanjiang City and one of the key places of worship in the nation. Catholicism became the principal faith regarding the city after the onslaught of France over Zhanjiang. Under the Zhanjiang's administration in 1900 the proposition for the development of a church was advanced by a Fan Lian a French legal priest. It took three years to build the congregation. Finally that was once whole of 1903 with the resources collected. It was one of the biggest gothic church in southern China. In 1991, it was recorded as a key cultural relic assurance unit in the city.
