Although no longer the capital of Myanmar, Yangon remains Myanmar's largest and most commercially important city, with a population of 5 million. Since 2010, the city has undergone rapid development and real estate prices have skyrocketed, as both local and foreign investors scramble to take a foothold here. However, shantytowns still remain around the city. Downtown is a bustling core of market streets and motorbike traffic. Travelers will enjoy eating street food like mohinga, the national dish, and chatting with the supremely friendly local residents. The Shwedagon Pagoda is the top site in town, attracting both tourists and pilgrims from around the world. the best places to stay in town, look no further than The Strand and Traders Hotel Yangon.
_GG***91Shwedagon Pagoda. Visit in the late afternoon for some great photo opportunities. Spectacular place, no it is not surprising it is packed with locals & tourists. Looking at this Pagoda from a distance, it is beautiful and very dominant, but once inside the scope of the place takes your breath away.
AnnalyssaThe area around Sule is amazing. theres maha bandula park, which is a great place to chill and relax. Maha bandula street is full of amazing street food. theres also some beautuful colonial buildings in the neighborhood, and the beautiful white government building as well. Sule pogada is beautiful, with white and gold everywhere.

#holidayvacation The drive up to this hillside restaurant may be hair-raising, but it’s really worth it for some of the best views on the island. It has bungalows, as well as a restaurant with several dining spaces. You can choose from a wooden deck with cushions to individual thatch-and-bamboo ‘salas’ (pavilions) or the actual restaurant area itself. The northerly views from View point are of, Chaweng, Bangrak and the airport and, at noon on a clear day, are quite simply unbeatable. #tripaway #merryxmas

Getting There - near Botahtaung Pagoda and Habour
Had buffet dinner on the Cruise but the food wasn't good. The boarding time is 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. It is good to hold an event, but you have to confirm the food with the manager before booking.
Anyway, it's a good place where you should hang out.
PS: local 25,000 MMK; non-local $25 (it's a bit rip-off)
The price can be changed.
#tripaway Ngwe Saung Beach is totally underrated! It has some of the most beautiful sunsets, and the coconuts are cheap and gigantic! The beaches are clean and untouched and the town is perfectly laid back.
back in Yangon when we did temple hopping. how beautiful they look.
Shwedagon Pagoda officially named Shwedagon Zedi Daw, Yangon City, Myanmar.
One of many Pagodas around Yangon City. According to tradition, the Shwedagon Pagoda was constructed more than 2,600 years ago, which would make it the oldest Buddhist stupa in the world.
