Jingzhong Temple

Jingzhong Temple is famous for its ancient times. It is over 1000 years old. During the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Xiao Tong, the prince of Liang Dynasty, built the Wenxuan Building here, which added cultural heritage to the ancient city of Yangzhou. The Tiantai monks of the Chen Dynasty built the Silent Courtyard here, so that Buddhism took root and flourished in Yangzhou. During the Sui Dynasty, Emperor Yang Guang of the Sui Dynasty listened to lectures here for three months, making this temple famous all over the world. Jingzhong Temple is small and quiet. This thousand-year-old famous temple covers a small area. Unlike many temples built on mountains and rivers, the temples are numerous and the vision is wide. The screen wall of Jingzhong Temple is connected to the surrounding dwellings. The four golden characters "Buddha's Light shines" are inscribed, and the two characters are blocked by an incense burner facing the temple gate. There are only two red temple gates, and the stone lions beside it are lifelike and naive. The entire monastery consists of two main buildings. One is the Mahavira Hall, which is dedicated to Vairocana Buddha, Emperor Shah, and Brahma King. The other is the Sutra Collection Building, which houses important Buddhist classics of the Qing Dynasty. In the pool on the east side, there is a stacked Taihu rockery, and there is a dripping jade Guanyin hidden on the lotus throne in the mountain.
