The Zoroastrian sacred fire that has been burning for 1500 years
Yazd, the headquarters of Ming Cult in Jin Yong's novels, is also the center of the Zoroastrianism, the state religion of the Persian Empire. Known as the city of windcatchers, it is home to the World Heritage-listed qanat system, ancient Silk Road stations, and a millennium of cultural heritage deeply integrated into this old city...
There are currently three sacred fires remaining in Iran, the most famous of which is located in the Zoroastrian temple in Yazd. No matter how time passes, the sacred fire never extinguishes, and the faithful have been worshipping it continuously.
For this reason, Zoroastrianism is not only the sacred fire order of Ming Cult in 'The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber' but also one of the world's earliest monotheistic religions.
The beast god of Zoroastrianism is its founder, Zoroaster. This symbol, resembling an eagle, can be seen everywhere in Iran, from museums to coffee shops. Its wings, one in front and one behind, represent the past and the future, good and bad, virtue and evil; the three layers of wings symbolize good thoughts, good words, and good deeds, all of which are indispensable; the circular covenant in the middle represents the eternal cycle of life; the forward-striding posture admonishes people to always look ahead.
This is the embodiment of goodness, symbolizing the rejection of all evil thoughts, words, and deeds, and the move towards the light. I really like this meaning. Later, when I was shopping, I saw a pendant and decisively bought it as a reminder to myself to maintain my original intention and to think, speak, and act kindly.
The culture of Yazd is ancient and splendid. Perhaps it is its mysterious veil that makes it all the more unforgettable, truly a place that haunts one's dreams.

Yazds position is right in the center of Iran. The word Iran on the map is on Yazd. In the middle of the vast Cavill salt desert. But it used to be an important stop on the Silk Road. It has been around for more than 7,000 years and is known as one of the oldest human settlements on Earth.
Since the destruction of the ancient city of Bam in 2003, Yazd became the last ancient city. In the words of final, Yazd has naturally become a place where many young people of different nationalities love to travel. Said Yazd This name may be strange, but here is said to be the hometown of Persian beauty Xiao Zhao of Jin Yong. Yazd has the oldest religion in the world - Zoroastrianism (commonly known as worshipping fire). Perhaps because of the ridiculous poverty and inconspicuousness of this desert town, it was ignored by the Arab rulers in the long-term, so Zoroastrians can survive here.

Dolat-Abad Garden Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Go to Yazd, Iran, and watch the wind tower wonders that have passed down the millennium!
Yazd is the second stop for Iranian travel. It is also my favorite small town in this trip. Here you will see that every household has a towering wind tower. Don't think it is a chimney or a bunker. This is an internationally original air conditioning system that uses complex wind principles to achieve a cool and cool effect. Nowadays, many families have installed air conditioners, and these wind towers have become unique postcards for the small town of Yazd.
Yazd Old Town has a lot of wind towers, so you don't have to look for it. The Persians are very intelligent in architecture. The wind tower is one of them. The Guazzi people built the house underground, and Ghanat (which we call the Kaner Well) was built 2000 years ago. The water source on the mountain was introduced into the culvert built along the natural slope of the terrain ten meters deep underground. Every household in the city is used for daily use. There is a pool under each family's wind tower, combined with the wind introduced by the wind tower, to form a natural air-conditioned room underground.
Watch the best view: Many hotels here have a top floor balcony that climbs up to overlook the entire Yazd style, including countless wind towers.
Best travel time: I am going to Iran in winter. I think the best travel season is winter, and it will be very hot in summer.
Transportation: Yazd has an airport, and it is very convenient to take a bus from Tehran and other places.
Zoroastrians Towers of Silence Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
do not miss it!
Ancient Burial Ground in Yazd
The Zoroastrian used Yazd “Towers of Silence” as open burial pits, placing their deceased relatives in rows so their bodies would be feasted upon by birds of prey.
It is almost impossible to think up an itinerary for traveling to Iran and not include Yazd. This historic city, with its preserved earthen architecture, mud-brick houses, astonishing ancient monuments and the amazing cooling system -which is done through the wind catchers (also known as Badgir) – is considered to be a ‘must-see’ destination among domestic and foreign travelers in Iran.
In addition, this ancient city was home to different religions throughout the centuries and as a result, many mosques, synagogues and Zoroastrian temples exist in Yazd.
During Sassanid times, Yazd- that means God- became the center of Zoroastrians, as in the time of conquering Iran by Arabs, many of them migrated to the city and settled down there.
