The Erqi Memorial Tower on the square was built to commemorate the workers' strike on the Jinghan Railway on February 7, 1923. The tower is 63 meters high and has 14 floors. The top corners of each floor are antique cornices, covered with green glazed tiles. There is a bell tower on the top of the tower, and the music of "The East is Red" is played on the hour.
