Wanfoyuan is located at the bottom of Yuanbao Mountain, on the west side of the Eastern Qing tombs. It was originally named Mount Yan Taling because inside, there had been about ten thousand statues of different shapes and forms of Emerald Buddha and Gold Buddha. For this reason, it got the name "Wanfoyuan" (garden of ten thousand Buddha). Since the building is located at the bottom of Mount Yan, it possesses characteristics of tombs. Hence, it had the name Mount Yan Taling. It combines together Chinese traditional folk culture, buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and modern art of gardening. It is a great travel destination for learning and sightseeing.
