Wednesday 16th June and we visited Ponta do Garajau.The main reason for our visit was to see the large Statue of Christo Rei. We were very pleasantly surprised to discover that there was more to see...
Defenity worth a visit
The views are stunning here, specially at sunset. You can walk all the way through from the statue Christo del Rey to a nice viewing point. Just steps, so should be possible for everybody.

Can be walked to from local hotels but is a very steep walk of upto 2 miles, we were recommended to visit by a local shop owner. A small cafe near the statue service the local portuese tarts (a variet...
Worth a Visit
Great viewpoint and the statue is worth a visit. I walked down the long and windy road which was lovely then took the cable car back. Short journey but steep. There’s also a little cafe at the bottom...
Higher and needs very pronounced.
A so green area with teleferic and statue included that is viewed from the sea, is a vast new area i buildings or houses are recent, the statue of Christ King is impressive.
