It is located on the sea side from the old townscape of Hikita. It feels like a key point facing the sea, leaving the atmosphere of the castle ruins. The road to the ruins of Honmaru feels like a light mountain climbing, so I think it's better to wear solid shoes at your feet. Since it was early in the morning, the Seto Inland Sea seen from the castle ruins was glittering and it was a very beautiful view.
I parked my car in the parking lot and looked for the entrance, but I didn't know (there is an entrance in a very easy-to-understand place), so headed for the parking lot and headed to the beast road on the left. Will you climb such a place? I climb a road without a road while wondering. Even after I found out that I made a mistake, when I looked at the mobile map, I forcibly climbed the Hikita Castle Ruins behind it. I'm really tired. The result was that I could understand the hardships of the troops attacking the castle from the back. I was able to see the scenery safely from the ruins of the main enclosure.
Hikita Castle, which has ruled the area, is located on a cliff located on the peninsula. It is a solid castle overlooking the surroundings, mainly in the Seto Inland Sea. Even if you walk from the trailhead, you can reach the Honmaru site in about 15 ~ 20 minutes. The castle town at the foot of the mountain is also preserved as old as it is, and it is well worth a walk.
The parking lot of Sanshu Izutsu Mansion is open for sightseeing in the surrounding area for free, so I got a pamphlet and a guide map of the site of Hikita Castle at the main building of Sanshu Izutsu Mansion and walked up the castle. There are many highlights between the Sanshu Izutsu Mansion and the entrance to the Hikita Castle Ruins, and I thought it was the correct answer to walk. Shiroyama was 82 meters above sea level and it was a fun light climb. You can see that it is a castle ruin because stone walls remain in the remains of Honmaru and Kita Ninomaru. Even if it is not a castle ruin, the top of Shiroyama is very view ...
Yamashiro was selected as one of the 100 Continued Japanese Castles. The view from the ruins of the main enclosure is wonderful.

Hita Castle, one of the 100 Continued Japanese Castles. I received a pamphlet of Hikita Castle and a road map to Hikita Castle at Sanshu Izutsu Mansion and visited. It's a place you can't understand without a map. There are 1 ~ 2 parking spaces at the trailhead. We will climb the mountain road aiming at the remains of the main enclosure. There is a stone wall left on the remains of the main enclosure, and the view from here is very nice. If you walk further to the Ninomaru site, you will be impressed with the stone walls.
