ここで採れる鉄鉱石の採掘場跡から高炉跡、長屋跡までコンパクトに見て回ると、160年ほど前はまだこうやって鉄を作り始めていたのか、という時間の短さを感じると共に、標高が高いせいか5月初旬でまだ桜がつぼみの寒い山の中で作っていた苦労を感じます。高炉の形は大きく崩れているけど、近くに石炭の残骸や炉底の鉄の塊など同じ世界遺産群に含まれる静岡県の韮山反射炉とは異なった保存状態も、かえって使っていたリアル感が...
