于是我们马上调整行程计划，决定立即前往蘑菇石景点。在Cannonville离开12号公路转向Cottonwood road。 柯达克罗姆盆地州立公园柯达盆地州立公园是Cottonwood road沙石土路的起点经过柯达盆地州立公园后便是沙石土路的起点，路边有一个蘑菇石景点游览指示牌，是由“大梯阶—埃斯卡兰特国家纪念地”设立的。没想到蘑菇石的英文名称竟然是Toadstool，那是毒蕈、毒菌的意思，这个名字非常精准，颜色鲜艳的蘑菇不就是有毒的嘛。我们在指示牌前停下车小歇了一会。早晨出发后一路都是LG开车，我接过了方向盘让他休息。路边Toadstool景区介绍牌，蘑菇石的英文名称竟然是Toadstool，那是颜色鲜艳的蘑菇通常是有毒的。开了10分钟以后，发现虽然土路不宽，没有分道，但地势平坦，视线良好，路上几乎没车， LG便让John练手，John也跃跃欲试，于是我又把方向盘交给John。
