温泉が流れ落ちる珍しい「湯の滝」

霧島温泉市場から、ほど近い所にあります。駐車場を挟んですぐ真向いに展望所があって、一見すると普通の滝に見えますが、イエ、イエ、何と霧島温泉郷の温泉水が集まって、流れ落ちる珍しい「湯の滝」なんです。高さ23ｍ、幅16ｍの滝ですが、岩壁の柱状節理により、滝にウェーブがかかったように見える流れ方も魅力的で、乳青色の滝壺や流れも温泉らしさを感じますね。

温泉が集まり流れ落ちる滝　丸尾の滝

霧島温泉郷の上流側に位置する林田・栄之尾・硫黄谷・明礬の四つの温泉が集まり流れ落ちる滝です。かなりの湯量があり見応えがあります。 バイパスの丸尾の滝橋が出来て以来、旧道に位置します。丸尾交差点側から丸尾橋通過後に左折して旧道に入っていくと突き当たりになります。手前側旧道入口から進入すると滝の手前にフェンスがあり進入禁止になっています。駐車場は沿道に7台ほどあるのみで小さいので要注意です。
