The Marine statue, which is now before the Dom, was on the New Place until 1921. Created in 1686 by the Pictures Hall Johann Claus to remind the Viennese liberation of the Turks.

A celebrative historic statue

The statue, which you will notice next to Domkicrhe, is an originally placed work in the Neuer Platz, which celebrates the release of Vienna by the Turks.

It was held near the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul and was resigned as a thanksgiving for the release of the city from the Ottoman Assembly.
