The staff was very friendly. Our guide was knowledgeable and interesting. Unfortunately I forgot her name. (She is a person who owns 11 snakes and 2 tarantulas.) The guided tour is worth the extra price as you will learn a lot about the animals that you wouldn’t know if you walked through the refuge alone. These animals are closer to view than the animals in the zoo. We went on Saturday and it was not crowded. There were 10-15 people on this trip. It lasted more than an hour. After the tour, you can also walk around by yourself. Arrive at the lobby 20 minutes in advance and you can see all the reptiles. That’s where the tour starts, so you’ll know exactly which reptiles they’re talking about. We stayed within an hour and both of us felt it was worth a try. It’s a long, bumpy dirt road so don’t wash your car before you leave.
