A monument to Sorin Otomo at the site of Usuki Castle. It is near Usuki Gokoku Shrine. There is a relief of Sorin Otomo sitting in a chair toward the Nanbansen. According to the inscription, Sorin Otomo built a castle in Usuki in 1562. He believed in Christianity and traded with Portugal, and at that time foreign ships and foreigners came and went to Usuki.
