_TI***ya:“Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam is beautifully preserved and well organized for visitors. The one-way route and included audio guide make it easy to follow the story, though it also means you should take your time—once you pass a room, you can’t return. Tickets are timed and sell out quickly, so booking in advance is strongly recommended.Beyond the interiors, the gardens are vast and lovely, with terraces, fountains, and paths perfect for an afternoon stroll. If time allows, don’t miss the Neues Palais (New Palace) at the far end of the park for a striking contrast in scale and style. Altogether, it’s one of the most rewarding cultural experiences near Berlin.”
Lavender and Sun:“Cecilienhof Palace is located at the northern end of the New Garden Park area in Potsdam, Brandenburg. It was built by Prussian Emperor Wilhelm II for his eldest son, Frederick William, who inherited the throne, and his wife, Duchess Cecilien. It is one of the most famous palaces in Germany.”
Sken:“The Sachsenhausen concentration camp in Oranienburg, north of Berlin, was the most well-known concentration camp in the Greater Berlin area and operated from 1936 to 1945 (the first Nazi concentration camp was the Dachau concentration camp near Munich, which began operating in 1933).
The existing concentration camp area is not large and the visit takes about 1.5-2.5 hours, depending on how much inhumane guided content you can endure. Although the horror level should not be as high as the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland, but... visiting a concentration camp has never been an experience that makes people feel kind and beautiful.”
TheForkUser:“Good products (except sturgeon). Very good service. Dishes bland and uninspiring. A special note on the sturgeon: the fish is definitely not wild-caught bit obviously farmed: it has a very distinctive and bad stale-water taste and smell. Totally NOT what sturgeon should smell and taste like - looks like the chef has no clue about the product and how to cook it. Pretty disappointing for a Michelin-stared restaurant…So if you go - have the chicken: it was also bland and overdone and you could easily do this at home even with the slightest cooking skills but at least it does not taste disgusting…”
TheForkUser:“A nice restaurant in a holiday resort by the lake. Very good food ( Spargelpfanne - fantastic!), quick and nice service, good beer - nothing to complain about.”
TheForkUser:“The service was great and the staff really friendly, we didn't speak Germany but we managed to understand each others, just wish there was an English menu for tourists”
TheForkUser:“At first, we thought the staff hadn't slept well.
They seemed cold and sober.
But that was a false impression.
Very courteous, prompt, and friendly!”
godknows:“The Potsdam Historical Museum gives people a more detailed understanding of the history of Prussia and Potsdam. There is a huge windmill outside that attracts visitors. It reminds people of the era of Don Quixote.”
