Edfu Temple

Edfu temple is one of the many nice temples to see while going along the Nile River. If you are going with a guide, it’s almost certain that this is one of the temples that he or she will bring you too. If you’re a student, be sure to show your student ID, just like every other tourist attraction in Egypt.



Maybe because the location of the Edfu Temple is not very convenient (it is right in the middle of Aswan & Luxor), and it is not as famous as other temples, it is obvious that there are relatively few tourists here. Because it is mainly dedicated to the falcon god Horus, it is usually called the Horus Temple, and statues of Horus can be seen inside and outside the temple. As the second largest temple after the Karnak Temple, Edfu is actually better preserved. After all, it is the only temple with a roof. If it weren't for the fact that many exquisite murals were artificially destroyed by a certain religion, I believe this place should be more beautiful~



This should be the cheapest hot air balloon experience in the world. We paid about RMB 280, and it is said that the cheaper one is 200. The scenery is not as good as Cappadocia, but it is good for the first experience.



Kom Ombo Temple

Almost certainly one of of the temples you will stop at if you take a guide along the Nile River. This temple is massive, and a lot of the hieroglyphics still are very easy to see. Definitely make sure to have some time when seeing it. Just like every other tourist attraction in Egypt, be sure to show your student ID for half price entrance if you are a student.



Esna temple is one of the few temples that still has a lot of it’s original color in Egypt. Try going if it’s not too far out of your way. other than that, there isn’t too much else to see in the city.



The High Dam

The dam is a clay core rockfill dam with a maximum dam height of 111m. When the maximum water level is 183m, the total reservoir capacity is 168.9 billion m3, the total installed capacity of the power station is 2.1 million kW, and the designed annual power generation is 10 billion kW·h. The project started on January 9, 1960, the first unit was put into operation on October 15, 1967, and all units were installed and put into operation on July 15, 1970. The project was completed in the same year.
