Part of M+’s new Pao Pao and Watari exhibition series, “Henri Stein: Images into Words” celebrates Stein’s influential approach to imagery by showcasing his most iconic projects, tracing the city’s development since the 1960s.
 
Henri Stein was born in Austria in 1934 and moved to the United States. He studied under the famous American graphic designer Paul Rand at Yale University and was well versed in telling stories through images. After moving to Hong Kong in 1961, he found that this multicultural city was full of vitality and was transforming into an international hub in manufacturing, trade, finance, leisure and tourism. Using concepts and contrasts, he juxtaposed elements of multiple cultures and created a new and infectious way of image communication. This playful, unexpected and intriguing language has made his designs resonate with a wide and diverse audience.
The exhibition is divided into two parts, first tracing Henry Stein’s early experiences and influences, and then taking viewers through Henry Stein’s unique designs, from large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects that reflect Hong Kong’s development to plans that reflect the city’s ambitions to become a tourist resort. Showcasing Henry Stein’s work during Hong Kong’s most prosperous decades, the exhibition illustrates the important role of graphic design in Hong Kong’s unique visual culture.

Remember you can bring food, snacks, and drinks in this park for personal consumption, so you do not need to purchase food at the park. Also, remember to pay attention to the show and time schedules in the main entrance. We almost missed the younger pandas viewing. Unfortunately, there were at least 2 rides under maintainence (the polar express and another roller coaster that had a light purple colour). Almost all the rides have height restrictions. For kids around the age of 5 that has a height less than 122cm, then they can only ride on the polar express roller coaster and the rides in the kids area. In the kids area, there are only a small merry-go-around, a train ride, a playground, a rock climbing slope, and a maze. In the adults area, kids under 122cm can go on the adult ferris wheel, viewing tower, adult merry-go-around. Also, this amusement park closes around 7pm, so schedule your time wisely. Cable car is definitely worth riding on. The sceneries were amazing. It has a limit of 6 people per cable car. It takes approximately 8-12 minutes per ride. The other under the sea train ride only takes 5 minutes or so, and arrives at a similar destination. The under the sea train has no scenery other than the digital and light effects inside the train. We ate at the rainforest snack shack. It was HKD $88 per snack. We picked fries and chicken wings. If you buy in multiples of 2, then the price is around HKD $156 or so. I tried the clown roller coaster, and it was rather short. Honestly, all the rides durations are shorter compared to other theme parks that I visited. This is more suitable for families that love animals, instead of young people that want the excitement from rides.

No one comes to Hong Kong without visiting Victoria Peak, but the few times I went there before I took the cable car up and down. This time I followed a few friends to do a night hike from Central. Hike the mountains and walk on the moon in search of immortals, swim in the sea and chase the waves and play with dragons. The approximate route is Central Garden Road and Mid-Levels Escalator - Old Peak Road - Victoria Peak - down to Central. I have to say that Hong Kong is really suitable for hiking. This route is not difficult and it takes about 40 minutes to reach the top of the mountain. The happiness of climbing up by yourself and looking at the night view is something you can never experience by taking the cable car. Then I saw a wild boar 🐗 crossing the road.

amazing view going up the peak on the tram! it can be a bit packed depending on the time you head there and the seats require some strategic planning if you intend to catch good view of the scenery. there are a handful of eateries and shops to browse as well as opportunities to capture the skyline of the city.

I personally like the exhibition hall 2, 5 and special exhibitions (the exhibition hall 1 is missed, and I will make up next time). The copywriting of the exhibition is really good, and it is shallow and literary. The excavation of historical details is also very deep. Can feel the intention and professionalism of the curatorial team, such as the Forbidden Day Sacrifice of the God of Sacrifice, the music sounds very shocking, the atmosphere is full, there is a feeling of immersiveness. Been to Beijing and Taipei Palace Museum, Hong Kong&#39;s experience is relatively better, there are few people, you can calm down to visit, no need to crowd people like war, the scenery is also beautiful, the viewing platform faces the sea, long-lost sense of relaxation.

M+ Museum is the first international contemporary visual culture museum in Asia. Since its settlement in the center of the West Kowloon Cultural District in 2021, it has become a new cultural landmark in Hong Kong. From the perspective of architectural design, M+ has been designed by a world-renowned architectural firm Herzog &amp; de Meuron. The building is covered with ceramic tiles, and its southern exterior wall is equipped with a multi-functional LED display system of 110 meters high and 66 meters wide M+ curtain wall. At 6 o&#39;clock every night, the LED lights are on, and the flowing visual culture is reflected on the seafront of Victoria Harbour. The underground railway tunnel is the most distinctive display space for M+. The unique architectural structure provides a different venue for the art exhibition. The collection is rich and varied.
