The Lingnan gardens are beautiful, with a particularly nice sense of layering in the space. It was my first time visiting Shunde, so this garden was definitely a must-see. It was quite crowded on the weekend, and the whole visit took more than an hour. The style is quite different from the gardens in Jiangnan. Shunde has such delicious food, I would love to eat and drink in this area again next time.

Admission is free. Parking is available for 20 yuan (unlimited time) at the nearest parking spot near the South Gate. The shuttle bus costs 40 yuan and can be used as many times as you like throughout the day. The scenery is quite beautiful, and from the highest point you can overlook the city of Nanhai.

Pushing open the bluestone door of Nanfeng Ancient Kiln is like stepping into a living history book of ceramics! 🌋 Built during the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty, the Nanfeng and Gaozao twin kilns have burned for 500 years. The red brick kiln body winds like a dragon&#39;s spine, and twice a month, when the kiln is opened, flames soar into the sky, instantly igniting a breathtaking spectacle that transcends time. The &quot;Divine Banyan&quot; at the end of the ancient kiln is a true wonder&mdash;the roots of a 400-year-old banyan tree penetrate the kiln wall, its branches and leaves providing shade like an umbrella. Touching the top of this &quot;feng shui tree&quot; is said to bring a lifetime of peace and happiness.

The scenic area hides many treasures: the &quot;Million Dreams Wall,&quot; made of 365 colorful pottery jars, is perfect for Instagram-worthy photos; the wok-ear houses of Linjia Hall and the &quot;Pottery Girl&quot; sculpture in the Shiwan Ceramics Museum showcase the ingenuity of Lingnan craftsmanship. The most delightful surprise is the intangible cultural heritage experience&mdash;for just 30 yuan, you can try your hand at pottery throwing, and even have your handmade &quot;Picasso-style&quot; pottery fired in a dragon kiln, receiving a unique souvenir a week later. This place is not only a pilgrimage site for pottery enthusiasts, but also a vibrant example of history coming to life.
