“Typologien” is an extensive investigation dedicated to German photography of the twentieth century. The project, hosted in the Podium, the central space of the Milanese venue, is curated by Susanne Pfeffer, art historian and director of the MUSEUM MMK FÜR MODERNE KUNST in Frankfurt.
The project applies the principle of “typology”, born in the 17th and 18th centuries in botany to classify and study plants, developed by photography from the beginning of the twentieth century and established in German photography during the twentieth century. Paradoxically, the proposed formal principle allows us to establish unexpected analogies between German artists of different generations and at the same time reveal individual approaches to photography.

This one is in a cool old industrial area, very clean. There are some very special exhibits, some look like old suitcases that have been left at the train station, people look at them very carefully. Other exhibits look like the soapbox race cars we made at school - only more expensive. Oh and there is a cafe restaurant there too.

I think it&rsquo;s completely worth it, all the art and history that goes through the walls of the cathedral, also the steps you put in while going up the hundred stairs, gorgeous views and experience. Please note that they are currently under renovation so a few parts aren&rsquo;t available to the public

Get there early. There&rsquo;s a lovely place across the street where you can grab a coffee or gelato and a washroom visit. I had no idea that I would be so moved by seeing Leonardo&rsquo;s painting of The Last Supper. It moved me to tears. I am so grateful that the efforts were put into preserving and protecting this treasure. Nice book store as you exit. Grateful for UNESCO World Heritage Sites as well.

Milan Cathedral Square is the heart of the city. The Gothic cathedral is spectacular and the details are as exquisite as works of art! The surrounding area is very lively and suitable for taking photos and checking in, but it is a bit crowded with many tourists. The pigeons are not afraid of people, which adds a bit of fun. It is very convenient to go directly to the subway, but be careful of hawkers. The overall atmosphere is great, free and open, a must-see when you come to Milan!
