Basic Overview and Features
Beizha is located north of Wuzhen, bordering Wujiang County in Jiangsu Province. It borders an ancient canal with a bridge called Taishi Bridge.

Compared to Dongzha and Xizha, Beizha is less developed and less visited, preserving much of the original water town atmosphere and the daily life of its residents.

Beizha&#39;s streets, stone bridges, water pavilions, old-fashioned shops, and narrow alleys are all relatively simple and antique, making it a perfect spot for visitors seeking a quiet and local experience.

Reports indicate that some of Beizha&#39;s former silk mills have been transformed into exhibition areas for international contemporary art, creating a vibrant cultural and artistic atmosphere.

Unexpectedly, this ancient town has a long history, with small bridges and flowing water, and it is full of ancient charm. The boat rower can also introduce the history of the ancient town. It is worth a visit. It is also great to shop nearby.

My two-day trip to Wuzhen can be summed up in one sentence: an exceptionally cost-effective experience with a unique atmosphere, though some attention to detail is required.

The highlights of the entire trip were undoubtedly the night and morning views of Xizha. In the evening, the lights along the riverbanks gradually illuminated, casting a dreamlike image across the water town. This is one of the most successful examples I&#39;ve seen of combining commercial operations with classical charm. In the early morning, before the crowds of tourists arrive, walking along the wet bluestone pavement and watching the rowboats cut through the calm water surface is the most authentic and tranquil moment of the entire trip, allowing you to experience the true nature of the water town. Dongzha offers a different kind of experience, with a more vibrant atmosphere and attractions like Mao Dun&#39;s Former Residence, which carry a rich cultural heritage.

Another unexpected highlight was the local dining scene. Whether it was the home-style cuisine of &quot;Golden Moon&quot; or the private cuisine of &quot;Qiu Ji,&quot; both offered solid flavors, reasonable prices, and warm and attentive service, far exceeding the standards of typical scenic area restaurants.

But I must be honest, there were some unsatisfactory aspects of the trip. For example, the damp and cold weather in March exceeded my expectations. The pervasive chill made the indoor experience feel worse than in the north. Furthermore, some of the coffee and other beverages within the scenic area weren&#39;t very cost-effective. While I personally experienced the free admission policy for those holding a tour guide certificate, it still requires a significant fee for the average visitor.

Of course, despite this, I still recommend Wuzhen, especially for the following groups:

① First-time visitors to the Jiangnan water towns: Wuzhen&#39;s well-managed and well-equipped facilities offer a standard, high-quality first experience.

② Photography enthusiasts and urbanites seeking a brief escape: Xizha&#39;s visual beauty is incredibly photogenic, and its quiet corners are perfect for a brief escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

③ Budget-conscious travelers: Taking advantage of the free admission policy, combined with affordable homestays and restaurants, can create a comfortable and affordable trip.

In short, Wuzhen may lack a bit of unpolished &quot;wild charm,&quot; but its meticulously managed and orderly atmosphere presents visitors with a beautiful, convenient, and memorable water town dream.
