Using Forest Bathing and Mindfullness activities, connect your senses to the natural environment on McNabs Island. Mindfullness and sensory approaches reduce stress and promote positive well-being.
The Forest Bathing tour will take place at various locations on McNabs Island. Beginning at the
English Victorian Gardens
and the
Teahouse Outdoor Education Centre,
the tour will include a nature walk to the top of
Jenkins Hill
and through the ruins of the World War Two
Detention Barracks
. With several "invitation" stops along the way, the tour will continue down to Garrison Road, and
McNabs Pond
and
Maughers Beach
. Forest tea will be served at the end of the tour.
After the tour, do some beachcombing along
Maughers Beach
or go for a relaxing swim.
Dress for the weather and island environment. Wear sturdy sneakers or hiking boots. The island's trails are rough in some places because storms have washed rocks up onto the trails. Visitors should expect to walk at least
5-7 km
on this hike.
Bring sunscreen, sunhats, insect repellent that repels ticks, plenty of drinking water, and a lunch.
Everyone must get their tickets in advance. This slow-paced Forest Bathing Tour is recommended for those 16 years of age and older.

on this Forest Bathing tour. Also smoking tobacco or cannabis and the consumption of alcohol are prohibited in the provincial park.
If you are bringing children, tickets are needed for babies and toddlers 3 years and younger, who will travel for free, courtesy of the Friends of McNabs Island.
There is NO rain date and there are NO refunds. However, in the event of heavy rain or gale force winds, OR if the park is closed, the tour will be cancelled and tickets refunded.
Cost:
$40 (members of the Friends of McNabs Island), $30 (children/youth under 16), $50 (non-members). Babies and toddlers 3 years old and younger are free, but still need a ticket.

Created by artist Simon Le Boggit, Rainbow Aurora is a celebration of colour and sound. Feel yourself relax as you watch strips of light dancing around the dome, with sounds that follow their gentle movement. Take a break from the fast-paced nature of everyday life, and enjoy the simplicity and beauty of this audio-visual experience.
This film was created as part of a co-production with pupils, parents/carers and teachers from Cann Bridge School and Woodlands School. Thank you all for your help in bringing this experience to life.

Into The Fruit Bowl
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in the centre of a watermelon, an orange, or a lemon?
Into the Fruit Bowl is a fun, playful, explosion of fruit and colour, created by Immersive-Me. Watch as fruits fall, dance, and drop around you, before splatting onto the top of the dome, enveloping you inside the fruit!

Using meditation gives you time for that relaxation as well as finding that simple way to calm the mind. 20 minute meditation is enough for most people to enjoy the meditation time without your mind floating back to your daily to do list.

On the 13th September we will Climb for Change, to raise vital funds for ground-breaking research into lifesaving treatment. It’s also a chance to walk in memory of the loved ones who we have sadly lost too soon to a brain haemorrhage – alongside others experiencing the same loss.
Open to all, this will be a 12-hour adventure, climbing to the summit of Scafell Pike (15 miles). Take in rugged, iconic landscapes alongside Team NKMT and others from around the UK and experience the dramatic views from England’s largest peak (978m).
Join us to Climb for Change as we climb Scafell Pike to remember, celebrate and raise funds to take steps forward in brain haemorrhage research.
