Join the Stitch Up - Social sewing session in Reading at Jelly, located at 115-116 Broad Street Mall, RG1 7QE. This monthly gathering provides a friendly and social environment for sewing enthusiasts to come together and work on their projects. Whether you're quilting, embroidering, mending, darning, or appliquéing, we welcome all types of sewing. The session takes place every Tuesday from 10-12pm, with upcoming dates on 20th February, 19th March, and 23rd April. Feel free to drop in whenever you can and stay as long as you like. Each month, we'll have a stitching prompt and we'll provide materials and tools for those who are new to stitching.
This lunchtime group offers a chance to take a break from work, meet new people, and engage in a calming and beneficial activity. Hand sewing has been proven to have positive effects on both mental and physical well-being. Please note that this is an adult group and due to the presence of needles and pins, we kindly request that children who are mobile do not attend. Biscuits will be provided, but you're welcome to bring your own hot drink and lunch if desired. This group is funded by Berkshire Community Foundation and we appreciate any donations to support our efforts in making art accessible to all. Please familiarize yourself with our workshop behavior policy, which can be found on our website. Find us on the 1st Floor of Broad St Mall, with our unit located closest to the public toilets. At Jelly workshops and events, inclusivity, safety, respect, confidentiality, and consent are of utmost importance. Don't miss out on this enjoyable and productive sewing session!
