Atsuta Festival (Shobu-sai) | Nagoya

Jun 5, 2025 (UTC+9)ENDED
Nagoya
Celebration
Atsuta Jingu is located in the lush Atsuta Forest in the southern part of Nagoya. Since ancient times, Atsuta Jingu has been affectionately called "Mr. Atsuta" by people. Every year, about 7 million tourists come to worship, making it very lively. As a "spiritual home", Atsuta Jingu not only attracts the citizens of Nagoya, but also attracts infinite admiration and faith from people all over the country. The Kusanagi sword, one of the three sacred treasures, is enshrined in the shrine. Since ancient times, it has been revered by the court and military commanders. It is the second most important shrine after Ise Jingu. The shrine was originally built in the Owari style, and was rebuilt in the Shinmei style in 1893 (Meiji 26). This is the most important and grand festival of Atsuta Jingu, and the emperor's envoys will attend. The shrine offers martial arts and performing arts that are not usually seen. In the evening, Jingu Park will light up the grass lanterns and launch about 1,000 fireworks. This is a festival that is loved by locals to herald the arrival of summer.

After sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in comedy and taking on the New Zealand Comedy Festival, I’ve realised there’s no place like home. And for me, home isn’t just a spot on the map—it’s talking absolute rubbish with a bunch of like-minded legends. So, I’m hitting the road again, bringing the chaos, the laughs, and the unfiltered fun straight to you. Expect a night packed with sharp banter, outrageous stories, dodgy games, and just the right amount of filth. Round up the crew, grab a drink, and get ready for a mid-year comedy blowout that’ll hopefully have you crying with laughter. See you in June! Information Source: Krystine Nation | eventbrite

Presence | Process | Possibility. This soulful workshop is for artists who seek to nurture their creative flow, dissolve resistance, and move with the natural currents of inspiration. Whether you are in a season of expansion, feeling creatively stuck, or caught in cycles of perfectionism, this space will guide you into deeper attunement with your body, nervous system, and artistic essence. A Flâneuse is more than a wanderer; she is an artist of presence, moving through the world with open curiosity, attuned to beauty, sensation, and the unseen rhythms of life. She creates not just with her hands, but with her way of being, allowing inspiration to find her in the quiet spaces between structure and surrender. Through shamanic meditation, bilateral drawing, and intuitive mark-making,we enter a space of embodied artistry, where thinking softens, energy moves, and creativity emerges effortlessly. A Journey of Creative Embodiment In the spirit of the Flâneuse, we embrace wandering as an art form. Allowing creativity to unfold naturally rather than forcing it into rigid structures. ✨ If you are overwhelmed by ideas and in rapid expansion, you will find grounding and integration. ✨ If you feel stuck or uninspired, you will reawaken movement and flow. ✨ If you are trapped in perfectionism or procrastination, you will experience liberation and trust. Step into the realm of limitless creation, where your body, mind, and spirit move in harmony with the great current of inspiration. The way you feel within shapes the world you create. When your inner world - your thoughts, emotions, energy, and creative flow - is in harmony, you open the door to meaningful connections, love, and fulfillment. The Flâneuse Experience Shamanic Meditation & Creative Visioning We begin by quieting the mind and tuning into deeper creative currents. This sacred meditation calls in ancestral wisdom, intuition, and artistic insight, allowing inspiration to arise organically. Bilateral Drawing & Nervous System Repatterning Engaging both hands in rhythmic, intuitive movement activates cross-hemispheric communication in the brain. This practice shifts us from stress into creative flow, dissolving mental blocks and fostering effortless self-expression. Intuitive Mark-Making & Expressive Flow Art becomes a language beyond words. Through spontaneous, embodied gestures, we bypass overthinking and allow subconscious imagery, symbols, and emotions to emerge freely. Unlocking creative depth and authenticity. Journaling & Integration Reflection transforms experience into awareness. What has emerged? What messages, insights, or breakthroughs are revealing themselves? This step bridges subconscious creation with conscious understanding, offering clarity for your artistic practice. Creativity as a Way of Being The Flâneuse moves through life as an artist - receptive, curious, unbound by rigid expectations. She trusts the ebb and flow of creativity, knowing that inspiration is not something to chase but something to meet, moment by moment. Creativity as AwakeningCreativity is not something we force; it is something we surrender to. It is a current we step into, a rhythm we align with, a language that speaks through us. When we quiet the mind and trust the process, creativity flows naturally, unfolding in ways we could never plan, yet always leading us exactly where we need to go. In this sacred space, creativity is not about outcome but about attunement, activation, and awakening. It is a space to trust in the unknown, surrender to the process, and witness the unfolding of your deepest creative truths. This is not just a practice, it is an artistic alchemy that rewires the nervous system, expands creative trust, and awakens new ways of seeing, feeling, and expressing. Step into this space of deep artistic embodiment. Let go of the need to control, and allow your creativity to move through you. Welcome to Flâneuse. With inspiration & creative flow, Jo x Please arrive 10 minutes early to settle in. Note: there is a flight of stairs to the studio and ensure that you give yourself time to find parking if you are driving. Information Source: Joanne Makas | eventbrite
