About Sam Grisman Project The music that Sam Grisman heard his father David Grisman and Jerry Garcia make in the early ’90s in the house Sam grew up in (the simply titled “Jerry Garcia & David Grisman,” as just one example) is not only some of the most timeless acoustic music ever recorded, it also triggers his oldest and fondest musical memories. Sam is inspired by how much camaraderie, love, and joy is simply oozing out of his father and his best friend, but also how deeply they get underneath their favorite songs (originals, covers, and traditional/old-time tunes) and how expertly that material was curated. Sam's aim in starting Sam Grisman Project is to build a container where he and his friends can showcase their genuine love and appreciation for the legacy of Dawg and Jerry’s music, the impact it has made on their own individual musical voices, and also to showcase the original music that their squad has to offer the world. Now, in a team-up with longtime family friend Peter Rowan, Sam and the band will be bringing the music of legendary bluegrass outfit Old and in the Way to the stage for select performances in 2025 and beyond! Flippin' to Pinburgh at Lumberjack Johnny's Didn't get your ticket to Pinburgh? Come play at Lumberjack Johnny's for your chance to win your very own ticket to the big event. This is an official Pinburgh Satellite Event. https://pinburgh.com/2025/main.html Here is what you can expect: Cost is $35 and this event is limited to 50 people. Registration is at 9:00 AM and the tournament starts at 10:00 AM Sharp! There will be five rounds of qualifying. Each round will consist of two games. 7-5-3-1 each game for qualifying. If there is a tie for 24th place then we will have a 1 game tiebreaker on a game chosen by the tournament director. 24 people will qualify for Finals Group Finals Format- played on 3 machines per round. High seed will get choose of game or order of play and the next highest seed will pick their order and so on. You will only be able to pick the same game once in playoffs unless all the remaining games have been picked. In the final rounds, qualifying players play against each other in 4-player games. A 4-2-1-0-point system is used to determine the two top players in a group who advance to the next round. Points for the three machines in the round will be added, and the two best will advance to the next round. Every tournament entry gets an entry to win the ticket to Pinburgh. Make it to finals and get a second entry to win. We will have our famous duck race to determine all the door prizes including the Pinburgh Ticket Lumberjack Johnny's 2701 N.
