The Kumho Museum of Art will hold the first phase of the "2025 Kumho Young Artists Exhibition" from March 21 (Friday) to April 27 (Sunday), 2025. Since 2004, the Kumho Museum of Art has selected a total of 101 young artists through the Kumho Young Artists Competition Program and supported them to hold solo exhibitions. The "2025 Kumho Young Artists" exhibition consists of solo exhibitions by six artists selected from the 22nd Kumho Young Artists Competition in 2024. The first part will host solo exhibitions by artists Kang Cheol-gyu, Song Seung-jun, and Lee Hae-ban, and the second part (May 9 to June 15) will host solo exhibitions by artists Kang Na-young, Yoo Sang-woo, and Joo Hyung-jun.
The author Kang Cheol-gyu creates a narrative world in his paintings where reality and fiction intersect, based on his autobiographical experiences. His works project inner thoughts, feelings, and desires onto specific objects or situations, and are the result of reconstructing personal narratives into symbolic visual language. In this exhibition, the artist uses the polarized themes of "strangers" and "predators" to express the desire for life, existential anxiety, and the psychological flow of trying to overcome it. The half-human, half-beast image that appears in the whole picture represents the artist's split self in the current state, and is a metaphor for his inner conflict and reflection. 
Different from the romantic imagination that emphasizes the idealization of nature, artist Song Chengjun created a scene space and corresponding installation works that capture the weird and contradictory aspects of nature. In this exhibition, the artist focuses on the vitality of the ecosystem in the uninhabited area as an extension of his ecological insight. The script of "Proxima's Essay" is set in a virtual floating refugee camp called "Proxima", projecting a realistic imagination of nature, telling the protagonist's dilemma of survival in the air in the dystopian future era, and his pursuit of infinite wind as a finite existence. This reflects the human attitude of objectifying nature, while breaking the dichotomous thinking, and ultimately reveals an ecological perspective that symbolizes a new form of coexistence. 
Based on his own experience growing up near the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) in South Korea, author Lee Hae-ban explores the border structures of various border regions and their socio-cultural impacts. The author points out that the buffer zone was established to avoid conflict and ease tensions between countries. It is a space that is free from human intervention and maintains natural order, but it is also a place where military surveillance and deterrence equipment coexist. This exhibition presents a series of landscape paintings, murals and physical works containing explosion images in orange tones, symbolizing the invisible boundaries in nature in the buffer zone. In this way, the traces of conflict remaining in the wonderful landscape of nature are depicted, presenting the contradictory landscape of the buffer zone where order and chaos intersect.

The Kumho Art Museum is located on the east side of Gyeongbokgung Palace, separated from Gyeongbokgung Palace by a wall. The art works exhibited in the museum are all modern Korean paintings, which form a different cultural contrast with the antiquity of Gyeongbokgung Palace. The museum is not large and can be completed in half an hour.

Gimmick? Yes will you wife or girlfriend love it? Absolutely. Happy wife happy life. Don&rsquo;t take my word for it take the view of a couple of thousand locks up there as witness. Well if you pissed your wife or gf off, bring them here and they&rsquo;ll probably forgive you.

you can climb up on foot in about 1.5 - 2 hours, from the side of Myeongdong there is a nice village, which is worth a walk. If you have a hard time climbing, it is better to use the funicular. Also, there are almost no kiosks selling water along the way
