Workshop LOOPING: TECHNOLOGY AT THE SERVICE OF ART How the idea came about After years of creating the concept Celloop (cello + Loop), the idealizer of this project Christian Grosselfinger in 2012 wagered on his solo career and leaves the orchestral means to devote himself exclusively to his creation. After traveling through central Europe, Brazil and South Africa, doing concerts with its renowned concert/concept, Christian understood that this technique could help others to achieve autonomy, allowing himself to live of music and develop professionally. About the project This project aims to offer a new musical arrangement technique called Looping that allows participants to expand their capacity to create and present music, giving more autonomy and expressiveness to their artistic activities. The workshop will be developed collectively in a spirit of reflection and cooperation. Why is it interesting? The aim of this project is to provide access to contemporary technical knowledge used in musical Looping area, demonstrating a current trend of bringing together art and technology. Currently, the technology has exercised a great fascination on the younger ones, so this workshop intends to take advantage of this interest for the sake of art. The use of the loop is a trend that has currently grown in the music. It is a technique that enables audio recording and reproduction cyclically. It is an excellent technical resource, which to musical performance enables the creation of a greater sound density. The possibility of being executed individually and applied to the various musical genres add numerous advantages: • Enables greater autonomy; • Develops creativity; Enhances the musical performance, allowing the listening to post performance enabling self-assessment; • Assists in solos, improvisations, and musical compositions; • Allows the realization of a richer and more interesting solo concert, since looping allows a single artist to perform a full concert, it synthesizes several instruments and sound variations. Without this tool, a realization of this nature would be impossible without the presence of other musicians. Where will it be held? Women’s contributions to society are often unseen and seldom considered in art. Many women’s names and their stories have long since been forgotten. Using French, German, Italian, Spanish and Dutch works on paper, the exhibition looks behind the allegorical scenes to shed light on women’s work in the 18th century, including toiling in the fields, caring for children and performing manual labour.The small thematic exhibition presents 25 French, German, Italian, Spanish and Dutch prints from the 16th to 18th centuries preserved in the Kupferstichkabinett’s (Museum of Prints and Drawings) rich holdings. Works have been selected that show women in everyday activities, working as peasants, farmhands, teachers, maids, midwives and courtesans. One focus provide insight into the professions practised by women, including attending to births as midwives; another shows those areas of society where men and women went about their daily tasks side by side (as equals?). Beneath the allegorical layers of meaning, the viewer often discovers self-confident women going about their lives, yet the hardship of everyday travail is evident. To this day, so-called care work for children and the elderly receives little recognition; efforts are being made to reconcile work and family life and to achieve equality between women and men, including in financial matters, but these goals have yet to be fully attained.

About this courseThis is a painting workshop with the goal of teaching people how to create paintings using either oil colors or acrylics. The total subject lessons consists of around 27 lessons that last 2.5 hours each. You can join at any time during the course. On each lesson the first part will be about theory and exercise and the second one about canvas time. Each participant will have the chance to work on canvas and start making paintings as artworks. All materials are provided by us. Each lesson has a subject. We do not follow a particular order, and every lesson is actually unique and many times personalized. This means that every time the attendess will have to do something new and different. You do not have to paint on canvas and with the mentioned art materials, you can also choose to use any of your wish. Most of the observations and exercises work well with all art materials. It's free seating and first come first serve, so show up early for the seats with the best views. Additionally, we offer a special 13€ ticket for seats in the back with tables and table service. You pay 3€ in advance and the remaining 10€ at the door (card/cash). We'll head BELOW DECK to the cozy stage area inside of the boat. So no matter how cold outside, we can bring you some warm laughs. Our beautiful and historic venue has a full bar with loads of hand crafted cocktails, cold beer, and a selection of wines. You can also come down early and enjoy dinner or some snacks from the kitchen on the stern of the boat (that's the back for the nautically challenged) before the show begins. One important note: the café and the bar are both card only! Where? The historic MV Helena! Just steps away from the U Märkisches Museum and S+U Jannowitzbrücke stations, and directly on the Spree. Because laughter is nice, and you want something to do on a Wednesday. So why not do it on a boat! This is a donation based show with suggested donations of 12-15€ if you have made a reservation, 15-20€ if you have not. We take cash or card, but the boat's bar is card only. Seat reservations are only valid till 7.45pm. Please come to the venue before then. No refunds for people who arrive after the show started.
