Welcome back to the highly-anticipated Balto Advanced Pool Sessions for winter 2023/2024! We are delighted to announce that the sessions are now open for bookings. This year, there will be two sessions available, from 5-6 pm and 6-7 pm respectively. The first session is specifically designed for our junior members and seniors who are looking to enhance their rolling skills, usually falling under the L1-2 skills category. We encourage experienced paddlers from the second session to lend a helping hand during the first session. The second session, on the other hand, is exclusively for paddlers with an L3 ability or above, allowing them to focus on their individual learning needs. Please note that these are DIY sessions, meaning there won't be any formal instruction. However, our pool will be populated by experienced members who will be more than happy to assist if needed. Safety is of utmost importance to us, which is why helmets are mandatory and must be worn at all times. For the safety of all participants, freestylers will be restricted to the deep end and are not permitted to paddle among the rest of the group, as freestyle poses a potential hazard to others. The second session will commence promptly at 6:00 pm, so we kindly ask all paddlers to arrive no later than 5:45 pm. Additionally, please be aware that the carpark will close promptly at 7:15 pm, so a swift departure is necessary. These sessions are exclusively available for Balto KC members, and any non-members must receive prior approval from the committee and hold a valid CI member number. Bookings that do not adhere to these guidelines will be canceled and refunded promptly. We regretfully cannot provide credits for missed sessions, and refunds will only be possible up to one week before the event. The second session is specifically for more advanced paddlers with L3 ability and above, providing them with the freedom to work on their own learning requirements. While these sessions are do-it-yourself, experienced members will be present to offer assistance and guidance. Safety is of utmost importance, and all participants are required to wear helmets throughout the session. It is crucial to note that freestylers are strictly confined to the deep end to avoid posing any hazards to other paddlers. To ensure a smooth flow of the session, participants must arrive at the pool at least 30 minutes before their respective session starts. The car park will close promptly at 7:15 pm, so it is essential for participants to leave promptly. Please be aware that the Balto Rolling Sessions are exclusive to members of Balto KC.
