Hallé Musical Stars is a fun and interactive music-making session for pre-school aged children and their grown ups. Join one of our experienced Hallé practitioners for a weekly music session which will include sensory play, singing, musical games and activities, and the chance to play musical instruments. Hallé Musical Stars is split into two groups: Babies - from 3 months until walking Toddlers - from walking until age 4 Classes take place on Monday mornings at Hallé St Michael's in Ancoats, and are limited in size to ensure everyone has a memorable experience. Each session is 45 minutes long with time after to have a cup of tea and meet the other families. Tickets cost £6.50 per session. Accompanying adult is included in the ticket price. ‘Dreams + Disillusions’ explores the plethora of ideas and ideologies that have shaped and reshaped cities in profound ways. Its research fluctuates between the world of concrete reality and the multiple universes that exist in lucid prose, poetic visions, and the outrageous imaginations of history’s most (in)famous minds. The six chapters reveal dreams that underpin the stories of the many urban lives; and how, through circumstance, manipulation, or planned perfection, desires are sometimes left defeated and disillusioned. With 18 illustrated speculative case studies and over 150 drawings, the book presents an abundance of curious imaginings, diverse provocations and satirical criticism. CJ Lim is the Professor of Architecture & Urbanism at the Bartlett, UCL, and has authored 12 books including his latest ‘Once Upon a China’ and ‘Dreams + Disillusions’ which continue his interest in architectural storytelling. Luke Angers is a practising Canadian architectural designer based in London, and has a long-standing interest in the spatial narratives of urbanism and landscape.
