Join us for the second edition of Personal Structures | Public Screenings, a cinema-inspired event organised by the European Cultural Centre (ECC) in Venice. Immerse yourself in a unique experience at Palazzo Michiel del Brusà, on 27 September from 2 pm to 8 pm. Indulge in popcorn and beverages while watching a selection of short films centred around the intertwining subjects of individual, cultural identity, environment, and artificial intelligence, topics that emerged from this year’s edition of Personal Structures - Beyond Boundaries. The works of Micky Hoogendijk, Gabriel Schmitz, Concept 2048 and Richard Wearn will delve into the individual's search for meaning and purpose in an often confusing and chaotic world. This theme invites us to reflect on our existence, choices, roles and footprints we leave in our existence. The films highlight the beauty of different perspectives, experiences, and expressions of identity. The environment is a pressing issue in today's world, as we grapple with the consequences of climate change and environmental degradation. Bibi Smit, Virginia Bradley, Rachel Mellors, and Klaus Littman shed light on the beauty of nature, the importance of conservation, and how it is the centre and motor of their artistic journey and craftsmanship. By exploring the environmental theme, we are reminded of our interconnectedness with the natural world and the impact of our choices on the Earth's delicate balance. A selection of short films by the New Media Festival will present the fascinating intersection of humanity and technology as the complexities of artificial intelligence are unravelled.
