Improve your mountain biking skills with the 202 Don't Sweat It [3hrs]: MTB Skills clinic in Greenmount at the Goat Farm Mountain Bike Park. This event, scheduled for November 2, 2024, focuses on advancing to intermediate and advanced technical riding levels while minimizing risks. Participants will learn essential tools to navigate challenging terrains like roots, rock gardens, and washed-out trails with small drops. The clinic covers various techniques such as navigating rocky obstacles without damaging pedals, mastering different riding speeds and styles, simplifying drops, understanding bike setup and suspension, and selecting the best lines. Attendees will tackle blue trails with customizable challenges based on individual skills and preferences, gradually progressing to conquer more demanding terrain. Please note that prior attendance at the A Solid Base clinic is mandatory for participation, except for those who have completed 1xx courses. Arriving at least 15 minutes early is recommended to ensure readiness for the event, which requires bringing your own bike. While the clinic is primarily for adults, accompanied children are welcome. Back 40 Folk Festival presents Grunge – a tribute to the early 90s music scene featuring bands like Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Alice in Chains. You’ll also hear music from 90s solo acts including Ani DiFranco and the Godfather of Grunge – Neil Young. Local musicians will dust off their wah pedals, throw on their plaid shirts, and rock out to some great music.
