About "Margam"
Margam
refers to the path of discovery through dance and music. This captivating performance will take you on a journey of emotions, exploring the interplay between Bharatanatyam dance and Carnatic music.
Bharatanatyam, one of the oldest and most revered classical dance forms of India, is deeply rooted in tradition, yet ever-evolving in its expression. With its intricate footwork, graceful gestures (mudras), and emotive storytelling (abhinaya), Bharatanatyam is a celebration of movement and music.
The program will begin with an adrenaline-pumping
Varnam
, a signature item in Bharatanatyam, known for its complexity and energy. Choreographed by the legendary Dhananjayans, this piece in praise of Lord Ganesha showcases both technical prowess and emotional depth.
This will be followed by an expressive piece that delves into the inner emotional landscape of the protagonist, exploring themes of longing and love.
The performance will continue with a lively
Thillana
, set in a rare 5-beat cycle. A devotional
Bhajan
will offer a meditative and soul-stirring conclusion to this artistic experience.
We look forward to sharing this memorable afternoon with you.

Pre-Concert Lecture - 6:30 pm - Christopher Preston Thompson, Director of Concordian Dawn.
Have you ever wondered what inspired Carl Orff to write his acclaimed cantata in the 1930s? Discover the answer in Polyhymnia's first collaboration with the medieval ensemble Concordian Dawn. We will present selections from the iconic collection of 254 poems discovered in the library of Benediktbeuern in Bavaria in 1803. These poems, some familiar and some less so, are set to popular songs of the 12th and 13th centuries. They reveal an international cross-border connection and collaboration among religious establishments, courts, and the Goliards—itinerant scholars and clerics who wrote much of the poetry. The subject matter ranges from sexually explicit depictions of love and romance to celebrations of tavern life and bold satire directed at the established church. Join us for a lively celebration of medieval music for voices and instruments that you won't want to miss!
We want everyone to be able to enjoy our concerts, and we understand that not everyone may be able to afford the published ticket prices. If you would like a ticket to one of our concerts, don't hesitate to contact info@polyhymnia-nyc.org, and we will arrange for a pay-as-you-will or free ticket. Rest assured that our arrangements are strictly confidential.

Victory & Bobbie The Show | Caveat
May 13, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
New York
Romy and Michelle, Lewis and Clark, Shrek and Donkey …Victory and Bobbie.
Come along with these two iconic, dumb idiots on a musical farce that is equal parts heartfelt and ridiculous. An evening of cabaret weaving together the nuance of friendship, the reality of death, and the earring rack of Claire’s.
Opening Acts from comedians Rima Parikh and Mariah Oxley.
Created and performed by NYU and UCB alums Jessie Komitor and Faye Rex—a dual degree so rare and impressive it belongs to them alone—Victory & Bobbie The Show has evolved from a radio play featuring Bridget Everett & Haley Joel Osment, to a live performance at Joe’s Pub alongside the show’s composer and musical director Libby Winters. Now, the duo lands on the Caveat stage in its most electrifying and wildly unhinged iteration yet.
Victory & Bobbie The Show is a hilarious, high-energy fever dream. If you’ve ever worked retail, questioned your own mortality, or simply miss the mall, this show is for you.

Friday, May 16

Independently produced documentary film tracing the roots and capturing the creative spark of the WEUSI Artist Collective, including interviews with noted WEUSI Collective members. Artist talk with members Ademola Olugebefola & Dindga McCannon, with Voza Rivers, Producer.
About the Exhibition: Reflections of WEUSI: 1965 to Present
The griots of the WEUSI Artist Collective have captured history using their unique creative styles to add a benchmark to the culture of Harlem and the world. This group of men and women were fearless, bold and unapologetic about their mission at a time of civil unrest in America. They made a statement, “Black images by Black people”.
The members of WEUSI continue to produce positive “Black” images using every medium, media and method known to the art world. They are modern masters of artmaking who weave their stories using paint, paper, metal, stone, photography, glass, wood, textiles, cloth to deliver powerful messages of hope and pride. The diversity of art makers in this collective continue to push the visual boundaries of storytelling with a commitment to uplift the global community of the African diaspora and serve as a building block for the future of Black art makers.
This exhibition is a tribute to these trailblazers here in Harlem where they had an undeniable and lasting impact on the culture and our lives. The exhibition is a collaboration between the WEUSI Artist Collective, Hamilton Landmark Galleries, and the Children’s Art Carnival.

Family Constellation is a practical and philosophical approach to life that engages all members of the group in a phenomenological manner. Participants, regardless of their financial contribution, may experience the benefits of this practice. Whether one is observing, listening, representing, posing an issue, or is an experienced professional in the field, everyone involved feels the impact of a Family Constellation session.
Topics:
Couples, Parents and Children, Addictions, Illnesses, Farewells and Free Themes
What is a Family Constellation Workshop
?
Our "workshops" or seminars are events where Family Constellations takes place. Every participant "constellates" in a workshop, either by bringing an individual question to the group, by participating in group dynamics, by being a representative in the experiences, or simply by observing - everyone benefits as long they are fully present.
A Family Constellation Workshop is an opportunity to participate in practical and face-to-face group experiences. This is not a course or training session, which requires years of practical and theoretical learning and does not end by earning some certificates.
Depending on the circumstances, but not necessarily, Patricia Belda, the facilitator, may elaborate on some of the theories of what is a Family Constellation. Such theories are introduced occasionally to help broaden individual awareness about life and support the personal growth of participants.
Who is it for?
ANYONE looking for change, growth, fulfillment, health, success, and joy of living will benefit regardless of age, nationality, gender, religion, profession, etc. Also, practitioners, therapists, and medical helpers may work on their issues. The right time to participate will present itself to each individual.
What is Family Constellation?
I n brief, it is a holistic path for healing and personal growth. Family Constellation is a new way to access knowledge through a philosophical, practical approach to life that involves phenomenology. It can mistakenly be confused with religion, psychotherapy, esotericism, and other methods or techniques, however, it is a path, an introduction, and transition to a new level of consciousness. Originally called "Familienstellen", today it is a new science in constant development.
Also called Systemic Constellation, Family Constellation was discovered and founded by the ex-Catholic missionary, educator, theologian, psychotherapist, and philosopher Bert Hellinger. He was born in 1925 in Germany and died on September 19, 2019.
Bert Hellinger developed Family Constellation from:
empirical observations;
constant meditation;
practical public actions, from which thousands of people were able to experience the effects of their understandings both on themselves and on their personal and collective relationships.
The work has evolved since 1980 and in the early 90s, the Family Constellation started to be universally recognized. Since then, it has expanded to the areas of Health, Education, Justice, and Organizations. The work is based on three principles of life, which Hellinger called Orders of Love. They are:
Belonging: the right for everyone to belong to a system
Hierarchy: order of arrival into a system
Balance: between giving and taking among the members of this system
The Orders of Love function as law and are as ancient and comparable to the Law of Gravity. These laws act on us, regardless of volition, opinion, belief, or knowledge. When these orders are violated by someone in the family, compensations arise and usually manifest themselves on members of later generations. These compensations arise in the form of “incurable” illnesses, permanent pain, fatalities, failures in life, serious conflicts in relationships, among many others. These diseases manifest themselves to:
include members who have been excluded
balance exchanges among family members
restore the flow of interrupted love
perpetuate the group
In a Constellation, people who know nothing about a client are chosen to represent family members. While in this field, they feel exactly like the person they represent, whether they are alive or dead.
Thanks to Family Constellations the individual can become aware of:
where the essential entanglement is
how the Orders of Love can be respected
the possibility of restoring the love and order that nourishes your system
the steps that may be taken, which will lead to a solution to the issue that imprisoned, and that one was not previously aware of.

Cancellation by the client, for any reason, must be submitted by email 7 days before the event.
