Wednesday 5th February 10am -11am Under 5s Autin Dance Theatre are super excited to be working in partnership with Warwickshire Libraries on their Cultural Beats Programme, offering local people in Warwickshire the chance to move and dance in their local libraries. From this summer until International Dance Day next year on Tues 29th April 2025, we will be delivering FREE, fun and accessible creative workshops for EVERYONE across the county. No experience necessary, just an interest to give it a go and get moving! The programme will also culminate with free events on International Dance Day with a celebration of dances and street games from around the world! On this week long course we will cover types of sash windows, types of faults and decay, repair method, suitable timber and materials for repairs, making and installing repair sections, glazing, balancing and recording sashes, retrofitting weather seals and double glazed units. Then finishing work like painting and pointing. This will be a practical course and you will be working on historical sash windows and learning conservation methods in a workshop environment. You will need working clothes and safety boots as well as safety glasses and hearing protection. All tools and materials will be provided as will lunch and drinks throughout the day. On this week long course we will cover methods of converting logs to final form products. We will be covering, cleaving, hewing, pitsawing, and using tools like side axes and drawknives to produce products like beams, boards, shingles, lath, pegs etc. A practical hands on course for those wanting to further their knowledge on historical methods to make logs into useable timber and products. Strictly no admittance to the course after 0900. If you arrive after this time you will not be allowed to join the course and will still be charged for the place. You will need to rebook on a later date. Parking is not available on site. Blue badge holders should contact us prior to the course. Nearby car parks are listed below: Coleshill Long Stay, Parkfield Road , (4 minute walk) Church Hill car park, B46 3AD (6 minute walk) Trainer - Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Breaks will be arranged by the trainer during the session. You will need to bring your own drink(s) with you and also a pen and paper. Some of the assessment is carried out on a mannekin on the floor, so please advise us if this could be a problem for you. We cover several different topics of which some maybe of a sensitive nature to yourself e.g. CPR, choking. Please can you let us know in advance if this would cause you any distress, and we will contact you to discuss this prior to the da ID - You are required to bring photographic ID and must show it to the trainer when signing in. Failure to bring ID will mean you will not be permitted to attend the course and will have to re-book. You will still be charged. Communication - the course will be conducted in written and spoken English. Members of staff will be required to participate fully in the session. Mobile Phones - Please switch all mobiles phones off or place on silent for the duration of the course.
