Wildlife in your community (EWC1806 Community) | Hadleigh Cricket Club (Suffolk)
Jul 9, 2025 (UTC+1)
Hadleigh
This day’s course for Parish Councils, Neighbourhood Plan steering groups and Local Community Groups will explore ways in which your parish can contribute to creating a wilder Suffolk and ensure greater protection for nature, now and in the future.
The course will take place in the historic town of
Hadleigh
, which benefits from several green spaces and a river walk within easy reach of the venue and the town centre. During the day, you will learn about where to find evidence of the habitats and species already present in your parish by undertaking a desktop search, which will then help identify opportunities and guide priorities. We will discuss the concept of green corridors and their importance for wildlife and explore the local parish to see where corridors could be created between existing wildlife sites.
Following your time in the Pavilion, you will be taken on an exploration of some green spaces, where we will uncover the truth of the information revealed in the desktop search. We will also touch upon planning policy including Biodiversity Net Gain and how this could affect your parish, Neighbourhood Plan, or Biodiversity Action Plan.
This course will provide an opportunity to ask specific questions about your parish and how to take forward plans to support wildlife where you live.
Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day. Please feel free to bring your own re-usable mug, or a flask.
You will also need:
A packed lunch
Notepad and pen
A camera, binoculars, hand lens and field guides if you wish;
Please dress suitably for the weather and for a walk around the local green spaces. The walk will be approximately 1.5 miles and will be adapted if the weather is unfavourable.
We are grateful to the community in Hadleigh and Hadleigh Cricket Club for making this course possible and for their support in sharing best practice and community engagement.

nday 14th December 2025 to 2AM (arrive by 7:30 PM)
By Popular Demand!
After a sell-out Paranormal Evening at Hadleigh Guildhall last Halloween 2024,
Ghostly Revelations
is thrilled to return for another unforgettable night of ghost hunting and mystery at one of the most haunted locations in Suffolk.
A night of chilling encounters and paranormal activity awaits as you step into the heart of the investigation at the historic
Hadleigh Guildhall
. This Grade 1 listed building is no stranger to the unexplained — reports from staff and visitors speak of unseen hands pushing them, mysterious footsteps echoing through empty hallways, disembodied whispers in quiet rooms, and items moving on their own.
A former mayor is said to haunt the Guildhall, appearing during events, moving objects, and even following visitors he disapproves of. Many refuse to walk through certain parts of the building alone after dark.
Hadleigh is widely regarded as one of the most haunted towns in the UK, and Guildhall stands as one of its most active paranormal hotspots. Shadow figures, cold spots, whispering voices, and the unnerving sensation of being watched are common experiences here — both among staff and brave guests alike.
On the night:
You’ll begin with a guided tour of the building before diving straight into the investigation. We'll take you into the most haunted and active areas, where the spirits of the long-departed are said to still roam.
The former mayor is known for making his presence very clear — will you encounter him?
You are the paranormal lead investigator for the evening! Our experienced team will guide and supervise you as you explore, investigate, and experiment. If you have a particular experiment you'd like to try, just ask — this night is yours to shape.
Experiments and Activities:
Ouija Board and Séances
Voice Box Sessions
Pendulums with Crystals & Human Dowsing
Full use of ghost-hunting equipment
EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) Sessions — alone or in groups
Paranormal Sensory Medium Experiments
Scrying (Mirror Gazing)
Table Tipping
