From November 18 to 19, the 9th World Mazu Cultural Forum and the 26th China Putian Meizhou Mazu Cultural Tourism Festival were held in Meizhou Island. Since 2016, the World Mazu Cultural Forum has been held annually and has a wide influence around the world. Yang Zhifang, president of the South America (Brazil) Fujian Hometown Association, said, "Whenever the phrase 'Mazu blesses' is heard, a Mazu temple friendship event is held, which can quickly narrow the emotional distance between Mazu believers abroad and enhance mutual friendship."
