About MY-SG
Singapore and Malaysia are closely knitted cultural, historically and socially. This series hopes to highlight the essential, everyday connections between Malaysia and Singapore—particularly through the flow of produce. From fresh produce and poultry to beloved snacks and ingredients, much of what fills our tables in Singapore begins its journey across the border.
This programme shines a light on the unseen hands and early-morning movements that keep our markets and kitchens stocked. Through stories and shared meals, MY-SG honours the people, relationships, and supply chains that nourish both nations, reminding us how interwoven our daily lives truly are.
About the Host
Meet Mr Pua, the driving force behind Ngee Teck Huat, one of the largest vegetable suppliers serving Singapore's markets today. Mr Pua has spent nearly three decades growing and supplying vegetables, and his passion for the work remains undiminished. “I’ve never complained about being tired,” he says. “I really enjoy it.” Even on public holidays like Labour Day or Hari Raya, he insists on working—asking his team to leave certain tasks for him just so he can keep moving. For Mr Pua, farming isn’t just a job—it’s his way of life and his form of exercise.
His journey began at just 19 years old, when he and his brother decided to strike out on their own after finishing school. With their father focused on wholesale vegetable trading and not directly involved in guiding them, the brothers took the initiative to reserve their own plot of land. While his older brother helped register the business, it was Mr Pua—with strong support from his mother—who eventually took the reins. Starting with a $20,000 loan from Shun Feng to purchase farming nets, he built up the business from scratch.
Today, Ngee Teck Huat produces an astonishing volume of fresh produce—over 15,000 to 20,000 kilograms of vegetables daily, with 90% bound for Singapore. They grow over 100 varieties of vegetables, including top sellers like xiaobaicai, kangkong, bayam, and ongcai. The farm supplies major retailers like NTUC, Sheng Siong, Hao Mart, Umart, and Baimei, and maintains a tight logistics operation to ensure freshness.
A hands-on leader, Mr Pua starts his day early by visiting the farms, checking crop quality, and distributing fertilisers weekly. With over 100 workers from Nepal, Indonesia, and Bangladesh, many of whom have worked with him for years, he believes in giving them ownership through contract farming to boost motivation. Unlike others who buy and resell, Mr Pua’s edge lies in growing his own vegetables—something he takes great pride in, every single day.

My Births & Rebirths with Orchid Breeder Zhuo Hongyi from Toh Garden | Meet at Keat Hong Community Club Bus Drop-off Point (2 Choa Chu Kang Loop, Singapore 689687). A bus will bring participants to and fro the cemetery
Aug 9, 2025 (UTC+8)
Singapore
What to Expect
Join us for a rare and intimate visit to Toh Garden with orchid breeder Zhuo Hongyi, and step into the hidden world of Singapore’s most iconic flower. You’ll discover how orchids are not only lovingly grown on local farms, but also how new hybrids are carefully bred and named—sometimes for foreign dignitaries—as part of Singapore’s unique tradition of Orchid Diplomacy.
Hongyi’s journey began in a family of farmers from the old Tengah village. While his relatives were initially focused on vegetables, he was drawn to the science of plants. As his father was involved in cloning plants in the lab, and his uncle experienced in tissue germination, he found himself fascinated by how life could be recreated and refined in a lab. Now, he grows orchids from scratch, a process that can take five years or more, choosing parent plants for colour, resilience and beauty, then germinating thousands of seedlings to find the rare few that truly shine.
At Toh Garden, you’ll see firsthand how orchids are bred—from the moment pollen is transferred, to the careful nurturing of seed pods and the precise conditions needed for successful germination. Hongyi will show you how new hybrids are selected, and how some are eventually named and gifted to honour important international visitors, turning flowers into powerful gestures of friendship.
As you walk through the farm, you'll learn what makes orchids so remarkable: their mimicry, aerial roots, and the patience they demand. You’ll also meet incredible varieties, like the Aranda Majulah, the Cobber Kain, and the Vanda Emrys Chew. And if you’ve ever tried to grow orchids at home, Hongyi will share his practical tips—how to water, when to repot, and how to fend off pests like mealybugs and fruit flies.
This is a chance to see orchids not just as flowers, but as stories—of family, science, and Singapore’s way of making quiet yet meaningful connections with the world.
About Birth & Rebirths
What does it mean to be reborn? For some, it is a spiritual awakening—being baptised, embracing a new faith, or finding solace in age-old rituals that mark a transition into a different way of living. For others, rebirth comes in the form of reinvention—leaving behind a troubled past, overcoming illness, or finding purpose after loss. From ex-residents who have rebuilt their lives, to individuals who have found strength in faith, community, or personal conviction, their stories remind us that transformation is always possible.
Through facilitated dialogues with the social workers, and people on the fringes of our society we hope to provide opportunities for participants to engage in candid and heartfelt conversations.
About the Organisation
Toh Garden is a well-established tropical orchid grower in Singapore, with nearly two decades of experience in cultivating and supplying premium orchids. Specializing in a wide range of tropical varieties—particularly dendrobiums, vandaceous orchids, and tropical oncidiums—we pride ourselves on delivering fresh, high-quality blooms straight from our farm.
Their core business revolves around orchid cultivation, fresh flower supply, and orchid landscape maintenance. We harvest orchids daily for sale and have extensive experience supporting orchid landscaping projects across Singapore. Our clientele includes country clubs, schools, parks, and private organizations, whom we advise on orchid selection, pest management, and maintenance programs.
Orchids can be highly selective in their growing conditions, and we understand what it takes to help them thrive. Beyond providing fresh cut flowers, Toh Garden is also known for creating unique orchid hybrids for commemorative naming. Notable hybrids include the Dendrobium Shangri-La, a Singapore-originated variety, and the Ascocenda Anglo-Chinese School (Ascocenda Kwa Geok Choo × Vanda Poepoe), which was registered by the Singapore Botanic Gardens on behalf of the school. We successfully propagated 10,000 of these hybrids for use in school landscaping and charity auctions.
Toh Garden is also proud to support one of Singapore’s iconic attractions—the National Orchid Garden—by maintaining its signature orchid landscapes.

My Births & Rebirths with Dr. Roland Yeow from Boys' Town | Meet at Boys' Town Main Lobby (624 Upper Bukit Timah, Singapore 678212)
Aug 9, 2025 (UTC+8)
Singapore
What to Expect
Join Dr Roland Yeow, Executive Director and former resident of Boys’ Town, for a quiet and reflective walk through the grounds of this long-standing institution. Having grown up within its walls and now leading its mission, Dr Yeow brings a deeply personal lens to the experience—one shaped by both his own journey and the stories of countless others who have called this place home.
As you walk through Boys’ Town’s key facilities—from dormitories to classrooms, therapy spaces to outdoor fields—Dr Yeow will share how the environment is structured to provide stability, safety, and a chance to start over. More than a tour, this is an invitation to understand the often unseen work of nurturing change: how trust is built, how setbacks are handled, and how small, consistent support can lead to transformation.
As part of the My Births and Rebirths series, this programme focuses on the quiet but powerful theme of second chances—how young people find new footing in the face of disruption, and how a place like Boys’ Town can serve as the ground for that renewal. Whether you are interested in youth development, social care, or the many ways communities hold space for growth, this visit offers thoughtful insight into what it means to begin again.

About the Organisation
Boys’ Town is a charity founded by the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel in 1948. Its key services include residential care, fostering service, respite care, youth outreach, adventure therapy and clinical intervention.
Boys’ Town serves both boys and girls, from infants to young adults. It helps children and youth coming from disadvantaged and disengaged families who may have faced hardship due to difficult home situations, financial struggles, abandonment, and abuse. Boys’ Town equips children and youth in need with skills to become socially integrated, responsible and contributing members of society.
About the Host
Dr Roland Yeow is the Executive Director of Boys’ Town and a former resident of the organisation himself. Trained as an engineer, he began his career in the technical and training consultancy sector before returning to Boys’ Town in 2004 to work directly with youth. Since then, he has dedicated his life to supporting vulnerable children and young people through care, guidance, and second chances.
Dr Yeow brings with him both professional expertise and lived experience—offering a unique perspective on resilience, growth, and community. Under his leadership, Boys’ Town continues to be a safe, inclusive space where young people are equipped with the skills and confidence to thrive. For Dr Yeow, home is not just a place—it’s a foundation for healing, learning, and becoming.

Passing – Leslie Low in Concert for The Substation's 35th Year | Esplanade Recital Studio
Aug 10, 2025 (UTC+8)
Singapore
Join us for The Substation’s 35th anniversary as an independent arts development company as we present one of Singapore’s most prolific singer-songwriters in Leslie Low - who also marks his 35 years in music.
"Leslie Low's songs are like love letters to Singapore and this concert, in a way, is our love letter to the artist and community". ~ Yuni Hadi, Co-chairperson of The Substation
Passing
is a lyrical and sonic journey through Leslie's indie-pop and soft rock reflections as an artist growing up, living in, and experiencing Singapore. Reaching back to his first album
A Walking Purgatory (
1999) to his latest effort
Chimera
(2024), Leslie has handpicked personal favourites from his solo repertoire, including a previously unreleased track, for this special 80-minute show – performed by
Leslie on guitar, with guests Sean Lam
(Concave Scream, Hanging Up the Moon) and
Alexius Cai
(Piblokto).
Audiences can expect an intimate evening of heartfelt songs, stripped down to the pure sound, poignant lyricism, and evocative emotions behind Leslie Low the artist.
An event of
Gathering Ground 2025
, this concert follows recent collaborations to celebrate the music of Singaporean artists, many of whom began their formative years at the old Substation Garden or Guinness Theatre—including Leslie as then frontman of 90s bands Humpback Oak and The Observatory.
About
Passing
and Leslie’s music
The title,
Passing
, is ambiguous but reflective of the mindset behind Leslie Low’s songwriting – with lyrics open to interpretation, inviting the listener to tap into their own set of lived experiences and emotions. By baring the soul, Low hopes to find common ground with the listener.
The common thread is essentially the story of growing up. Like journals, Low’s songs document life through the years – from a place of naivety and innocence through the realities of adulthood, and beyond into the years of stasis during pandemics, to losing one’s job and recovering from it. All of these against the backdrop of an ever-changing Singapore horizon-scape. His songs conjure a feeling of ‘the Singapore experience’ not often talked about or presented in mainstream media, yet is a feeling that is intimately known and deeply relatable in the collective consciousness.
Depending on which album or period, Low’s lyrics can be conversational like in
Blood Red Pale White
(2021), or as in
Worm
(2006), seemingly inconsequential and simplistic but dressed up to obscure a deeper meaning. But always, there is an emotional quality behind the words and introverted presentation that define most of Leslie Low’s music.

以内在省修辅助佛法修行 | Blk 106
Aug 10, 2025 (UTC+8)
Singapore

Step into the lush world of Simpang Renggam, Malaysia, where the sweet aroma of pineapples fills the air and the camaraderie among pineapple farmers is as golden as their harvest. Meet Lim Ser Kwee, who has dedicated his life to cultivating pineapples since childhood. As the president of the Federation of Vegetable Farmers Associations, his passion and expertise shine through. Joining him is the vibrant Huan Yi Heng, a young member of the esteemed HKK Fruits family, who carries the pineapple farming legacy into its third generation. Discover the secrets of successful pineapple cultivation, witness the tight-knit community of Simpang Renggam, and savour the fruits of their labour on this delightful journey through pineapple paradise.
Meet Ah Heng, a third-generation pineapple farmer from Simpang Renggam, home to one of Malaysia’s most tightly-knit farming communities. At just 26 years old, Ah Heng carries on the legacy of his family’s company, HKK Fruits, one of the largest pineapple plantations in the area. What began as his grandfather’s corn farm slowly transitioned into pineapple cultivation—a move that now defines the family's identity. Today, HKK Fruits grows a variety of pineapples, including MD2 (highly prized for export), the sweet Josapine, and the tangy Morris, often used in local rojak or achar.
Pineapple farming is no small feat. Each fruit takes up to a year to grow, with artificial fertilisation and supplements applied in the early months to ensure high sugar content and good size. Despite careful attention, only about 90% of the yield meets the high standards required for sale—Grade A pineapples are sold incredibly affordable, while rejected fruits are turned into jam to minimise waste. As part of their supply chain, HKK Fruits partners with outlets in Singapore’s Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre.
Global warming has made farming more challenging than before. The sun’s intensifying heat means pineapples must now wear protective coverings—like little hats—to shield them from scorching temperatures. Still, Ah Heng remains committed to his family’s work together with his younger brother who studied Supply Chain in Australia. Together, they represent a new generation of farmers—blending tradition with modern knowledge to keep Simpang Renggam’s pineapple heritage alive and thriving.

Meet My Saree Seamstress Supramaniam Danam from Queen's Tailoring | Entrance of Tekka Centre along Serangoon Road, outside Maxi-Cash (665 Buffalo Road Zhujiao Centre, Tekka Market, 210665)
Aug 10, 2025 (UTC+8)
Singapore
What to Expect
Step into the world of sarees with Queen’s Tailoring, a beloved name that began humbly in 1990, selling sarees door to door before settling into a permanent shop. In this intimate session, you’ll meet the seamstress behind the shop, who has spent decades crafting and curating sarees for women across generations. Through live demonstrations and storytelling, she’ll walk you through the fascinating evolution of Indian clothing—from traditional half-sarees for young girls to the various ways sarees are worn across age, region, and occasion.
Discover the history of the saree and how its styles have shifted over time—from revealing silhouettes before colonial modesty norms, to its resurgence as a bold fashion statement today. Learn to identify different types of Indian attire, fabrics, and draping styles, and explore how sarees are chosen for weddings, temple visits, and daily wear. You’ll also get to witness the difference between North and South Indian drapes with step-by-step demos by seasoned wearers. Whether you're new to sarees or grew up around them, this session will deepen your appreciation for the artistry, memory, and meaning stitched into every fold.
About Meet My Craftsman
From the soothing touch of a traditional Javanese masseuse helping a new mother regain her strength, to the gentle folds of a child’s first saree, or the lovingly hand-stitched chouchou, our constant companion from childhood—our first journeys through life are often accompanied by the care and craftsmanship of those who make these moments tangible.
Meet My Craftsman is a celebration of the crafts, rites, and rituals that mark the beginning of life. On the theme of My First Journeys, this programme explores the many ways communities across Singapore commemorate milestones such as the birth of a child, the first month, first year, or first rite of passage. These early steps are steeped in meaning—often marked with traditional foods, handmade tokens, and symbolic objects that express hope, protection, and joy.
From practical postpartum traditions like Javanese massage and herbal care, to edible celebrations like Ang Ku Kueh (red tortoise cake given during a baby’s first month) and Yi Bua (a steamed coconut glutinous rice dumpling from the Hainanese community), each object or treat carries with it a deeper cultural resonance. Clothing, too, becomes a marker of growth and identity—like the physical and symbolic meaning of sarees in the Indian community, handmade and passed down through generations.
Many of these traditional ways of welcoming and celebrating new life are fading in today’s fast-paced world. Through demonstrations, conversations, and hands-on experiences, Meet My Craftsman shines a spotlight on the artisans and practitioners who keep these customs alive. Join us as we meet the craftspeople who have helped generations begin their life journeys with care, meaning, and beauty. Slow down be reminded of the objects, gestures, and traditions that make our earliest memories so deeply treasured.
Meet your Host
With nimble fingers and a sharp eye for detail, Supramaniam Danam has been stitching memories into fabric for over three decades. As the founder of Queen’s Tailoring, she has dressed generations of women for weddings, religious ceremonies, and everyday moments—each saree carefully fitted and folded to honour tradition and individuality.
Born in Tamil Nadu and raised amidst rich textile traditions, Mdm Danam’s journey began when she received her first half-saree at the age of 12—a rite of passage that ignited a lifelong love for Indian clothing. Since opening her shop in 1990, she has seen saree trends shift with the times, but her passion for preserving its cultural roots remains unwavering. Her knowledge is stitched not only from years at the sewing machine, but from listening closely to the women she has served—each with their own stories, styles, and reasons for wearing the saree.
In this session, Mdm Danam welcomes you into her world with warmth, sharing lived insights and craftsmanship that go beyond fabric and thread.

Reincarnation in Buddhism with Bright Hill Temple | Meet at the entrance of Zen Café, near the main entrance of Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery (88 Bright Hill Rd, Singapore 574117)
Aug 10, 2025 (UTC+8)
Singapore
What to Expect
As part of My First Journey, this special programme invites participants into the serene and sacred grounds of Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, one of Singapore’s most prominent Buddhist temples.
The experience begins with an introduction to the main tenets of Buddhism, including the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path, and key principles such as karma, compassion, and mindfulness. A special focus will be placed on the concept of rebirth and reincarnation—how Buddhists view the cycle of life (samsara) and the spiritual practices that aim to bring liberation.
Participants will enjoy a guided tour through the monastery’s beautifully maintained halls, shrines, and meditation spaces. Along the way, they’ll gain insight into the architectural and symbolic elements that support Buddhist devotion and reflection.
A highlight of the session is the opportunity to speak with a Venerable. Participants are invited to engage in an open Q&A with the Venerable, where they can ask questions, clarify doubts, and gain deeper understanding of how Buddhism views birth, early life, and the path toward spiritual awakening.
This programme offers a rich and reflective experience for anyone curious about Buddhism and how it frames the journey of life, beginning from birth.
About My Prayers and Practices
Every F1 season, we will see 10 religious leaders standing along the racing track to bless the road. We can typically identify the leaders of our own faith but there are religions in Singapore which are less heard of, though they are celebrated by some of our local communities. As a multicultural melting pot, many religious communities have taken root and established their practices on our little red dot.
From the Jains and Zoroastrians to the Jews and Orthodox Christians, we hope that participants can join us on a soul-nourishing journey to the places of worship of the major religions in Singapore and learn about their birth, coming-of-age, marriage and death prayers and practices. We hope that such tours will enable us to explore and negotiate our own sense of self and appreciate our religious diversity in Singapore.
Through these tours, we hope participants have a deeper understanding of race, religion and social cohesion. We hope you will gain multiple perspectives and connect your own stories of multicultural and multireligious heritage with those of others. Through facilitated dialogues with the religious leaders, we hope to provide opportunities for participants to engage site hosts in candid and heartfelt conversations.
About the Organisation
Founded in 1920, the Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery manages one of Singapore’s two Buddhist columbaria. Notably, the monastery houses one of Asia’s largest bronze Buddha statues atop its four-storey Venerable Hong Choon Memorail Hall, standing at 13.8 meters tall and weighing 55 tonnes. Visitors to the monastery can explore the Pagoda of 10,000 Buddhas and find solace in a sapling from the Bodhi tree in India.

Teo Puay Kim, also known as PK, has been active in Singapore’s Buddhist community for a few decades. He is the director of Dharma in Action Ltd, a volunteer-run organisation that promotes Buddhist values through contemporary platforms. One of its key initiatives since 2009 is the “Thus Have I Seen” Buddhist Film Festival, which seeks to raise awareness of Buddhist teachings and the diversity of Buddhist cultures through the platform of film.
PK also volunteers at Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, where he conducts guided tours exploring Buddhist philosophy, beliefs, practices, culture, history, art, and also aspects of Singapore’s heritage.
Drawing on his Buddhist practice and professional background in the tourism industry, PK co-founded Bodhi Travel, a now-defunct company that once offered Buddhist-themed tours across Asia. The venture reflected his efforts to link travel with spiritual learning.
Combining his interests and experience in Buddhism, tourism, and education, PK continues to create accessible pathways for the public to engage with Buddhist teachings.
About Venerable Shi You Wei
Venerable Shi You Wei is a Singaporean Buddhist monk and the current Abbot of Di Zang Lin, a Mahayana Buddhist temple located along MacPherson Road. He assumed this role in 2005 following the passing of his mentor, Venerable Zhen Dao, who founded the temple in 1997. At the time of his appointment, Venerable Shi You Wei was among the youngest abbots in Singapore.
Born into a humble family, Venerable Shi You Wei, developed an interest in Buddhism during his secondary school years. He pursued Buddhist Studies as an elective at Tanjong Katong Secondary Technical School, which deepened his spiritual inclination. He later graduated from the National University of Singapore with a degree in Business Administration. After working in the healthcare and arts sectors, including a managerial role at Man Fut Tong Nursing Home and a position at the Esplanade, he decided to pursue monastic life. He was ordained on 10 October 2004, receiving the Dharma name Fa Cheng, also known as You Wei.
As Abbot, Venerable Shi You Wei revitalised Di Zang Lin by introducing structured Dharma lessons, reorganising prayer sessions, and initiating community outreach programmes. He established the DZL Volunteer Corps and launched initiatives such as bursary awards for students and food distribution projects for vulnerable residents in Marine Parade. Under his guidance, the temple has become a hub for both spiritual practice and social service.
Venerable Shi You Wei is known for his innovative approach to Dharma propagation. He spearheaded the creation of "Meet Ksitigarbha," Singapore’s first children's picture book about the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. This initiative blends traditional Buddhist teachings with modern storytelling techniques to engage younger audiences.
Beyond temple activities, Venerable Shi You Wei serves as a licensed marriage solemniser and was the religious advisor for the Nanyang Polytechnic Buddhist Society. He was on the Board of the Singapore Buddhist Federation, helming its Education division. His efforts to make Buddhism accessible include maintaining an active presence on social media platforms, where he shares insights and engages with the public.
Through his leadership, Venerable Shi You Wei continues to bridge traditional Buddhist practices with contemporary society, fostering a community that values both spiritual growth and social responsibility.

Sunat Lelaki (Circumcision) with Al-Falah Mosque & TAF Clinic | Meet at the Entrance of Masjid Al-Falah (22 Bideford Road, #01-01, Singapore 229923)
Aug 10, 2025 (UTC+8)
Singapore
What to Expect
Male circumcision—sunat lelaki—is a significant rite of passage in many Muslim communities, marking not just a physical procedure but a meaningful step in a child’s journey of faith and identity. In this thoughtful and informative session, participants will hear from both religious and medical experts who will unpack the layered meanings, evolving practices, and practical considerations surrounding sunat lelaki in Singapore today.
The session opens with Ustaz Faritz from Al-Falah Mosque, who will share the religious foundations of circumcision in Islam. He will explore why circumcision is encouraged for Muslim boys, its role in religious hygiene, and how the practice is tied to notions of purification, responsibility, and spiritual development. Ustaz Faritz will also speak to how families can prepare children emotionally and spiritually for this important step, and how the ceremony is sometimes marked within the community.
Next, Dr Taufiq from TAF Clinic will offer a comprehensive medical overview of the circumcision process. He will explain the modern clinical procedures used today, including what parents can expect before, during, and after the operation. Dr Taufiq will also discuss the benefits and risks, healing process, pain management, and common concerns families may have.
In a fascinating look at how the practice has changed over time, Dr Taufiq will also delve into traditional methods of circumcision once practiced in Singapore—such as home-based procedures by community circumcisers—and how they compare to clinical approaches today. This segment offers a rare opportunity to explore how culture, medicine, and religion intersect in a practice that continues to evolve across generations.

About the Organisation
About Masjid Al-Falah
Masjid Al-Falah is a prominent mosque located in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore’s premier shopping district. Officially opened on 25 January 1987 by Dr Ahmad Mattar, then Minister for the Environment and Minister-in-Charge of Muslim Affairs, the mosque traces its roots to the former Angulia Mosque at Angulia Park, now the site of Wheelock Place.
Administered by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS), Masjid Al-Falah is guided by the vision of becoming an Islamic Information Centre, particularly focusing on da’wah and Islamic learning in the English language. The mosque serves a diverse and transient congregation that includes locals, working professionals, tourists, and expatriates of various ethnic backgrounds. The mosque aims to be a space where Islamic knowledge is accessible, relevant, and engaging.
Masjid Al-Falah also seeks to embed positive family values as a core emphasis across its programmes and services. Through its programmes and services, Masjid Al-Falah strives to nurture a balanced and resilient Muslim community rooted in knowledge, compassion, and unity.
In 2008, Masjid Al-Falah underwent its first major renovation to enhance its classroom facilities and better support its mission of English-based Islamic education. A second, more extensive upgrade was completed in 2015 under the Mosque Upgrading Programme (MUP), which expanded the floor area by over 500 square metres. These upgrades provided more prayer space, improved amenities, and barrier-free access, making the mosque more inclusive and accessible to all worshippers.
Today, Masjid Al-Falah continues to serve as a welcoming and accessible spiritual hub, fostering interfaith understanding and community harmony. It remains the only mosque along Orchard Road, Singapore’s iconic retail and tourism belt, and plays a vital role in engaging both Muslims and non-Muslims in meaningful conversations about faith, identity, and coexistence.

Managing Corporate Treasury Risks | One Raffles Place
Aug 11, 2025 (UTC+8)
Singapore
This interactive workshop course is apt for participants working in and with corporate treasuries and need to keep pace with developments in treasury risk management and technological advancements as well as growing pressures of regulatory, governance and compliance issues. It engages the participants in examining the challenges and issues of risk management and governance and drives forth the case that managing risks holistically with a proper risk culture and framework is imperative to the survival of the treasury entity as much as the corporate institution
Overview
The corporate treasury function is no longer just dealing with the routine daily cash flows and working capital requirements of the entity. Over and above these traditional roles, the corporate treasurer as a value agent is now involved in strategic planning and striking winning relationships with banks and other agents in sourcing and applying funds as well as a proactive business partner with the business units within the enterprise. This enhanced and upgraded role of the corporate treasurer comes at a time when uncertainties pre-dominate not just the financial marketplace but also the way in which business activities are being reshaped with exponential technological advances. Intended to be edu-training, the course offers a pragmatic understanding of corporate treasury risk management with less quan- toxication and more qualitative rationalization.
Upon completion of course, participants will be able to:
take hold of increasingly new demands of the corporate treasury function in the wake of the Global Financial Crisis and technological advancements and attendant new risks (digitization, block chain, cryptocurrency evolution, cyber-security concerns)
Appreciate the challenges faced by the corporate treasury to provide a more strategic role to the other units in the organization and in building rapport with banking and capital market partners
Draw lessons from the financial crisis and other risk "mishaps" so to improve the risk management culture and discipline in the light of new regulatory, governance, compliance and technological pressures
Take a strategic role in addressing financial (interest rate, FX, equity and commodity) risks confronting the corporation
Who should attend
All individuals who want to improve their value-adding effectiveness to the corporate treasury's success and acquire mastery of sound risk management practices should attend this course
CFOs, treasurers and Chief Accountants, head of business units, advisers and business consultants
Corporate relationship managers from financial institutions including banks, insurance and asset management companies
Non-finance professionals from sales, marketing, human resources, operations, investor relations, production, legal departments and technology professionals seeking an understanding of how corporate treasuries work

Unleashing the Transformative Power of Agentic AI in Singapore’s PS | Sheraton Towers Singapore
Aug 13, 2025 (UTC+8)
Singapore
Driving Successful Agentic AI Use Cases Through a Robust and Trusted Data Foundation
Singapore stands at the forefront of public sector AI adoption, setting the pace for the region – and beyond. Strategic early investments in digital infrastructure, robust data governance and cutting-edge AI capabilities have created a powerful launchpad for responsible innovation.
A
new frontier is
emerging
– Agentic AI.
Unlike traditional models that assist in isolated tasks, Agentic AI systems are built to operate with autonomy. This next wave of intelligence has the potential to redefine how governments function, especially in domains that demand nuanced judgment, policy interpretation or real-time responsiveness. Singapore is beginning to explore this space with curiosity and intent – not to replace humans, but to augment their capabilities in a rapidly evolving environment.
Early use cases are taking shape.
Yet such progress is only possible when agents are built on high-quality, contextual data.
Feeding AI agents with accurate, well-structured information ensures they operate as intended – aligned with policy objectives, sensitive to nuance and capable of adapting to real-world complexity.
The principle is clear: quality in, quality out. The effectiveness of Agentic AI hinges on the integrity of its inputs.
Well-labelled, timely, and contextually relevant data doesn’t just improve performance – it determines whether agents are helpful or harmful, insightful or inaccurate. Singapore’s strong foundation in data governance provides the confidence to test and iterate safely, ensuring that outcomes are explainable, traceable and aligned with public intent.
Already, tangible wins are emerging. AI agents are demonstrating their value in orchestrating complex processes, identifying policy bottlenecks, accelerating approvals, and even providing decision support in sensitive, time-bound scenarios. These successes are not one-size-fits-all; they are the result of rigorous exploration into what works, under what conditions, and where human oversight remains essential.
As Singapore deepens its exploration of Agentic AI, broader questions emerge – not only about the capabilities of these systems but about their role in advancing the public good.
The challenge is no longer purely technical; it is strategic,
ethical
and institutional.
What kinds of decisions should be delegated to autonomous systems? How can accountability be embedded in agents that operate with minimal oversight? And as these systems become more capable, how can institutions ensure they remain focused on delivering tangible outcomes that matter to citizens?
The success of Agentic AI will not be defined by novelty alone, but by the ability to achieve meaningful use cases at scale
– safely, reliably and in alignment with public intent. Real progress lies in building systems that not only function autonomously but also deliver measurable value in complex, real-world conditions.
Now is the time to move with intent – - to test boldly, govern wisely and shape the future of Agentic AI from the front.
Strategic Agentic AI Deployment for Real Outcomes
Strategic deployment of Agentic AI begins with clear, outcome-driven objectives – aligning each use case to specific public sector needs. By focusing on measurable impact rather than experimentation alone, agencies can ensure that autonomous systems deliver real value where it matters most.
AI-Powered Insights for Proactive Governance
Agentic AI holds the potential to transform complex workflows by autonomously coordinating tasks, adapting to real-time inputs, and reducing manual intervention. Unlocking this capability requires not just technical readiness, but thoughtful integration into existing systems and processes to maximise efficiency and scalability.
Robust, AI-Optimised Data Foundation for Seamless Integration
A robust, AI-optimised data foundation is critical to enabling seamless integration and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of Agentic AI systems. By establishing comprehensive data governance frameworks and prioritising data integrity, public sector organisations can unlock the full potential of AI, driving impactful and efficient outcomes across various domains.
The session will allow delegates to:
EXPLORE
the potential of Agentic AI to autonomously enhance governance
FOCUS ON
achieving scalable, measurable use cases through Agentic AI
PRIORITISE
high-quality to ensure Agentic AI systems perform accurately and effectively
PILOT
Agentic AI use cases with strategic intent while maintaining robust governance frameworks
TACKLE
the strategic, ethical, and institutional questions surrounding Agentic AI deployment
