Why Sound Therapy is the Next Big Thing
Sound therapy is becoming as essential to modern wellness as yoga and gym routines. If you believe in strengthening and aligning your body through physical activities like yoga, sound therapy should be part of your maintenance routine to achieve a balanced state. While yoga and gym focus on physical strength and alignment, sound therapy works to align your brainwaves and heartbeats, creating coherence and inner peace. This balance is key to living life at its optimal level, maintaining motivation, and achieving a sense of calm in our busy lives.
Sound therapy is also a powerful form of alternative medicine, helping to tune and align your organs if you’re experiencing pain or illness. Every organ vibrates at its own frequency, and sound therapy helps train your inner body to strengthen its resilience and maintain flow. By aligning these frequencies, your body is better equipped to discharge toxins, reduce free radicals, and improve blood circulation—leading to better health overall.
Furthermore, science has proven that specific sound frequencies impact our body, especially through entrainment, helping to oxygenate and enhance blood flow for improved focus and clarity.

2025 Singapore Kids & Teens Art Competition - Life in an AI-Era | Visual Arts Centre
May 28, 2025 (UTC+8)ENDED
Singapore
Welcome to the "Life in an AI Era" 2025 Singapore Kids and Teens Art Competition, proudly organized by Visual Arts Centre! This exciting art competition invites young artists aged 8 to 16 to express their creativity and imagination through art. With two age categories—the Kids Group (8–12 years) and the Teens Group (13–16 years)—this is a wonderful opportunity for budding artists to showcase their talents, explore a futuristic theme, and compete for attractive prizes, including cash prizes, free art classes and certificates of award for the top three winners and finalists in each age group.
In a world where artificial intelligence is rapidly shaping how we live, learn, work, and communicate, our theme "Life in an AI Era" invites participants to explore the possibilities of this new technological age. What will our cities look like? How will we interact with AI in our daily lives? Can AI help us protect the environment or enhance creativity? Through this theme, we hope to spark curiosity and critical thinking about the role of technology in our future, while encouraging young minds to interpret the theme through their unique artistic lenses.
The purpose of this art competition is to encourage artistic expression, promote awareness of emerging technologies, and to provide a platform where young artists can reflect on the world they are growing up in. Visual Arts Centre believes in nurturing creativity and fostering a love for art from a young age. We are excited to see how our young participants imagine life with AI—from optimistic dreams to thoughtful concerns—and turn those visions into inspiring artworks.
Let your imagination take flight and show us your vision of the future. We can’t wait to see what you’ll create! Please scroll down below on more information and register for the art competition!

Food Rescue Mission LIVC Jan-Jun 2025 | Lembu Road Open Space
May 28, 2025 (UTC+8)ENDED
Singapore
What is a food rescue mission?
A food rescue mission involves the 3 stages of ‘Collect-Sort-Share’. This is a total hands-on activity where participants will immerse themselves in a typical food rescue, gain first-hand insight into the food waste reduction landscape, and learn creative ways of using rescued food.
Participants can expect
to do a lot of walking, carry loads, push trolleys, and sweat out.
to handle donated produce comprising a range of quality.
to bring home at least a bag of rescued produce.
to work together with others as a team.
As the activity is conducted outdoors, please be prepared for instances of wet weather.
Sounds like something up your alley?
Your
1st time
signing up for a LIVC mission? Please read this guide before doing so:
Guide for
1st-timers
Upon signing up, our volunteer admin will contact you a few days before the rescue to kickstart your induction into our rescue community.
Who can take part?
Anyone above 18 years of age.
Each participant is allowed to sign up only for themselves. No accompanying persons or minors are allowed, unless specially arranged as part of a group engagement.
Why?
Little India Veggie Collection, or LIVC in short, is a food rescue programme focused within the vicinity of Little India in Singapore. Our community partners are grocery shops that sell fresh produce such as vegetables and fruits as well as dry goods. Our rescuer community members consist of public participants that actively partake in the rescue missions and share resources with one another on how to put the food to good use by converting them into tasty dishes or by sharing them with various appreciative recipients. This programme serves as an avenue for surplus or unsold edibles to be donated back to non-purchasing consumers, thus creating a local circular economy.
To understand more about the food waste issue in Singapore:
https://www.nea.gov.sg/our-services/waste-management/3r-programmes-and-resources/food-waste-management
https://sgfoodrescue.wordpress.com/
When does this happen?
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Late evening, as the grocery shops end their business day.
