Push Me, Pull You | Thomas Dane Gallery
May 27–Sep 27, 2025 (UTC+1)
Naples
Thomas Dane Gallery in Naples presents Push Me, Pull You, an exhibition curated by Jenni Lomax.Featuring works by nine artists from past and present generations, Push Me, Pull You arrives out of a conversation held in 2018 with the artist Amy Sillman. The note ‘pushing to the edge, pulling back from the brink’ arose from a discussion about painting in general, and the artist Prunella Clough in particular. What connects the artists in this exhibition is the sense that they think and – to quote Clough – ‘fight’ with their materials. By taking things emotionally and physically to an edge, before bringing them back into view, each artist allows shape, imagery and atmosphere to emerge. They therefore build a conversation that goes back-and-forth between the materiality of the process and something drawn from the back of the mind or caught out of the corner of the eye.
Paolo Bini: Nient’altro che Pittura | Galleria Alfonso Artiaco
Jun 13–Sep 6, 2025 (UTC+1)
Naples
Alfonso Artiaco presents “Nient’altro che Pittura”, the first solo show by Paolo Bini.Paolo Bini’s (Battipaglia, Italy, 1984) painting emerges from an ongoing meditation on landscape - not as representation, but as memory, perception, and inner geography. In his practice, colour transcends its role as mere surface: it becomes a living material, layered with time, charged with presence. His gestures are never hurried; they accumulate slowly, through acts of addition and erasure, revealing a dynamic equilibrium between control and intuition. For Bini, painting is a space of listening as much as of doing, a field where sensation and structure meet in silence, where the image does not declare, but appears.
Selene Cardia: Amber Nails | Galleria Alfonso Artiaco
Jun 13–Sep 6, 2025 (UTC+1)
Naples
Selene Cardia (1995, Silius, Sardinia) grounds her practice in a painting language that is both austere and luminous, where time and gesture are not mere components but structuring forces. Each intervention on the surface, from the priming of the canvas to the layering of pigment, unfolds like a quiet liturgy. It is a rhythm not proclaimed but inhabited - intimate, slow, and insistent. Her measured, recurring gesture is not a display, but a way of dwelling within time—an anchoring act that steadies the fleeting tremor of the present. Time here is not suspended or romanticized; it is restored to its density, experienced as a living body.

Apr 5–Jun 7, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Naples
For over four decades, Janssens (b. 1956, Folkestone, UK; lives and works in Brussels) has explored the shifting boundaries of perception through a practice that is both rigorous and elusive. Her work investigates the interplay between light, matter, and space, engaging these elements not as static forms, but as fluid agents of experience. Through translucent surfaces, reflective planes, and optical phenomena, she constructs environments where reality is not fixed but instead dissolves into an ever-changing, intangible state.

Langhorne Slim
Langhorne Slim, a beloved and acclaimed American singer, songwriter and performer. Over the last 2 decades he has merged a stew of styles to create a sound that is unique, powerful and raw. From campfires to dive bars, and theatres to arenas, Slim brings an intimacy and edge through his innate ability to connect with his audiences. Though he’s been at this for the better part of his days, it somehow feels like he’s just getting started.
The road to Strawberry Mansion, which was recorded at Daylight Sound in Nashville with longtime compadres Paul DeFigilia (Avett Brothers) and Mat Davidson (Twain), began in 2019 with Slim's decision to get sober. Even though the singer-songwriter kicked alcohol years ago, the insidious monster of addiction had crept back into his life in different guises. The last straw came during a road trip with a friend, who, at the end of the journey, let it be known that the man he knew and loved was no longer recognizable. So Slim called his manager and loved ones and soon checked into a program. That experience and his ongoing recovery program have given him a framework for grappling with the personal demons that have always skulked in the shadows, and helped him find light in the void. "It's important for me to talk honestly about these things, because I feel it gives me strength, and it might help others along the way." he says.
Strawberry Mansion is the singer-songwriter's seventh full-length album. He released his first record, Electric Love Letter, back in 2004. Since then he has graced the stages of Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Newport Folk Festival, and the Conan O'Brien show, winning fans over with his heart-on-a-sleeve sincerity and rousing live shows.
Born Sean Scolnick in 1980, Slim took part of his artistic moniker from his hometown of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, a place he's still very much connected to despite making his home in Nashville. Since the advent of Covid-19, he has been traveling back to PA once a month to see his mother and grandmother, and, like many Americans, finding strength in his origins and family bonds. The title Strawberry Mansion refers to the neighborhood in Philadelphia where both of his grandfathers grew up, a place he calls "dirty but sweet, tough but full of love, where giants roamed the earth and had names like Whistle and Curly." That idea of a mythical wonderland informs the new album from head to toe. Strawberry Mansion is not so much about nostalgia for the past as it is about the possibility of better days ahead in this world. These are songs that remind us we're all part of a collective "Mighty Soul," united in one journey, just like the characters in that old Philly neighborhood. It's a life-affirming album for these times.
Oscar Fargnoli
A Naples native, Oscar has been forging his way through the music scene as soon as he could hold an instrument. A lifetime of soul pours through this 18 year old. What we get is a folky blend of original takes on life’s ever winding paths.
