The annual Winter Lights Festival is Niagara Falls’ most enchanting attraction and Canada’s largest free outdoor light festival. Experience millions of lights and otherworldly spectacular displays throughout the tourist area. “Glittering Winter Lights” Falls Illuminations To celebrate the beauty and majesty of winter and the annual Niagara Falls Winter Lights Festival, the Niagara Falls Illuminations Committee has created a “Glittering Winter Lights Show” for Niagara Falls Tourism. The display features subtle and sometimes jarring movements inspired by northern winters. From gentle snowfalls to the Aurora Borealis gliding across the snowy tundra to blizzards and frosty waterfalls; the winter spectacle is thrilling and magical. The majestic American and Canadian Horseshoe Falls come to life every evening, paying tribute to the natural beauty that surrounds us. The light show is part of the Falls’ regular nighttime illuminations, with five-minute displays taking place every night at 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 pm from November 16, 2024 to January 5, 2025. Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights Hot Chocolate Trail Enjoy a hot beverage while exploring the Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights this winter. This new self-guided trail takes you to delicious chocolate concoctions created by chocolatiers, chefs and mixologists at some of Niagara Falls’ great restaurants and bakeries. From classic combinations of mint, orange and s’mores, to creative cocktails like the Dulce De Leche or the Naughty But Nice Hot Chocolate, featuring unique homemade ingredients like flavored marshmallows and even gummy eyeballs. The Hot Chocolate Trail features more than 20 stations with more than 30 unique and delicious flavors to sip and sample (both non-alcoholic and alcoholic options).

Since 1982, the festival has become one of the top winter attractions and Canada’s largest outdoor light festival. The Winter Lights Festival fireworks show will begin on Saturday, November 16 and continue every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Nightly shows will be held during the holiday season from December 27 to Sunday, January 5, 2025. There are many opportunities to enjoy spectacular fireworks displays with stunning views of the Falls this winter!
