Oxon Hill High School Class of 2005 20th Year Reunion *Blk and Gld Edition* | Harborside Hotel
Oct 4, 2025 (UTC-4)
Oxon Hill
Welcome back,
Oxon Hill High School Class of 2005
! Can you believe it's been 20 years already????
It’s hard to believe that 20 years have passed since we walked across the stage, filled with dreams, excitement, and anticipation for the future. Yet, here we are, ready to come together to celebrate the journey we’ve all taken since that memorable day. This year’s reunion is extra special as we honor the milestones, challenges, and achievements that have shaped our lives since graduation.
In true
black and gold
spirit (THE EVENINGS THEME), we gather not only to reminisce about the good times but also to recognize how far we’ve come. The colors black and gold symbolize the strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit that we’ve carried with us through life, no matter where we’ve gone or what we’ve done.
From those early days in the hallways to the many adventures that followed, each one of us has a unique story to tell. Some of us have traveled the world, built families, pursued careers, and lived out our passions. Others have faced hardships, found strength in unexpected places, and grown in ways we never imagined. Yet, through it all, our shared experiences bind us together, reminding us that we’re a part of something bigger.
So, here’s to 20 years of
black and gold
— to the memories, to the laughter, to the lessons, and to the friendships that continue to light our paths forward. Here's to the past, present, and future of our amazing class.

About Chief Nick Finamore
On January 5, 2021, Prince George’s County Fire Department lost one of its own. Chief Nicholas C. Finamore, an active-duty member, passed away due to complications from COVID-19. He was affectionately known to his friends and family as “Nick.” Chief Finamore was a 53-year veteran of the department who served in both career and volunteer capacities. After retiring as a career deputy fire chief of operations in 1989, Nick became the chief of the Allentown Road Volunteer Fire Department. He held many leadership roles within the department, most recently as Volunteer Operations Commander for the Prince George’s County Fire Department, where he served until his passing. He was well known in the fire service and well respected by all that had the privilege to know and work alongside him.
Chief Finamore was considered a pioneer in the Prince George’s County Fire Department, a true leader and the epitome of the perfect firefighter. He was recognized for bravery several times throughout his distinguished tenure. Early in his career, Nick was awarded the PGFD Gold Medal of Valor for rescuing two children from a house fire in Seat Pleasant, MD. There was never a shortage of stories about Chief Finamore and his love for the job.
F or some context on Chief Finamore's tenure with the PGFD his ID number was "5". Current recruits in the academy have ID numbers of 28,000+.
A bout the D.C Firefighters Burn Foundation Children's Burn Camp
Since 2005 the DC Firefighters Burn Foundation has provided young burn survivors from the Washington metropolitan region an opportunity to attend a one-of-a-kind summer camp. The Children’s Burn Camp is a safe, natural outdoor environment for kids ages 8 to 18 from around the world who have survived life-altering burn injuries. The remote setting creates a unique opportunity for the campers to just be kids for one week without fearing others staring at their scares, asking uncomfortable questions, or being made to feel they are different. The camp is staffed by firefighters, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and burn survivors, who volunteer almost ten days every summer to make this camp a success. Firefighters from DC to Maine raise the funds to keep this camp free for all campers and their families. The DC Firefighters Burn Foundation even provides transportation and basic needs such as pillows and sleeping bags for the kids from the Washington metropolitan region.
Founded in 2004, the D.C. Firefighters Burn Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization established by active and retired Washington, D.C. Firefighters. The Foundation is dedicated to assisting in the recovery and rehabilitation of injured firefighters and burn survivors from the Washington metropolitan region. We support burn research, treatment, and rehabilitation programs at Washington Hospital Center and Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC).

Arabella Hong Young Tribute | Faculty House
Oct 25, 2025 (UTC-5)
Morningside
You are invited to a unique afternoon of storytelling, music, and history centered on the life and legacy of Arabella Hong Young, Juilliard-trained soprano, Broadway performer, beloved teacher, and radiant presence in the lives of many. This is an intimate gathering to honor Arabella as an artist, mentor, and mother, and to reveal the quiet brilliance that defined her journey; from postwar concert tours to the Broadway stage where Rodgers & Hammerstein wrote a song just for her voice in the musical Flower Drum Song in 1958. As we celebrate Arabella’s extraordinary life, we’ll also explore the remarkable family that shaped her: her mother, Marion Wong, who acted and directed the first Asian American feature film in 1917, her father, K.S. Hong, who was the first Chinese American to receive an Electrical Engineering degree from UC Berkeley in 1917 and built ships during WWII, and her husband, Royce O. Young, who dropped out in 6th grade then taught himself calculus and eventually became the director of Pupin Physics lab at Columbia University. Through curated storytelling, rare photos and film, and moments of connection, we’ll witness how Arabella’s life unfolded within a lineage of courage and creativity, and how personal memory becomes part of a larger cultural legacy. This is an afternoon of discovery, reflection, and shared history and we’d be honored to have you with us. 🥂 Light refreshments will be served You do not need to create an Eventbrite account to RSVP—just enter your name and email to reserve your spot.
