Featured Events in Abergavenny in February 2025 (August Updated)

This Art Club is built for primary aged children and their parents/carers to spend time making art together. All children to be accompanied by an adult participant. What to expect : each family pair/group will make thier own robot and explore how their shadows look. At the end of the session we'll display all of our robots together to share with each other. What you take home : Take home your robot! What to bring : Nothing to bring, challenge yourself to making the best hand shadows! Mess Level : We will be cutting, sticking and drawing with felt pens. If you feel your child gets quite messy please bring messy play clothes. How to find us : We are in the creative classroom upstairs in Abergavenny Community Centre (we are not in the main hall). What to expect : each family pair/group will make their own saltdough pumpkins and everyone will have chance to get stuck into the obliteration space! What you take home : Take home your pumpkins for baking, the obliteration space will be dismantled and recycled appropriately. What to bring : Nothing to bring, but talking points include the concept of infinity. Can you make an infinate mirror by angling two mirrors? How many of you can you see? Mess Level : We will be doing A LOT of sticking and using coloured salt dough (vegan). If you feel your child gets quite messy please bring messy play clothes. What you take home : Take home your totem pole piece. What to bring : Nothing to bring, but talking points include our families and animals that are important to us. The Tsimshian people live by the sea so much of their artwork includes whales, turtles and other animals that are part of their lives. Mess Level : We will be drawing, painting, cutting and sticking. What to expect : each family pair/group will add to the group piece by doodling on some of Mr Doodle inspired supplies. What you take home : Take home your Doodle Milk What to bring : Nothing to bring, but maybe try out some doodling. It doesnt matter if it's good or bad. just try filling a page of paper with black pen doodles! Mess Level : We will be drawing with black paint marker pens - these are low VOC's but will stain fabrics. If you feel your child gets quite messy please bring messy play clothes.
