Organized by the New Art Dealers Alliance, the fair primarily showcases the work of emerging artists and small galleries, continually meeting the needs of exhibitors and the art world at large by creatively reinventing the experience and presentation of art in a fair setting.

Jim Dale is one of the world’s great stage entertainers: actor, singer, director, author, lyricist, comedian, narrator and raconteur. At the age of seventeen he became the youngest professional comedian on the British Music Hall stage. Under the wing of Sir George Martin he became a successful pop star. At the request of Sir Laurence Olivier he joined the British National Theatre. He starred in 28 films including 11 of the British "Carry On" series. Dale was born in Rothwell, a small town in England and started training for his career at the age of nine. For six years he studied tap dancing, eccentric comedy dancing, judo, National dancing, ballet and tumbling. During these years he performed in many amateur shows and started to include comedy in his act. At the age of seventeen he became the youngest professional comedian in Great Britain, touring all the famous Variety Music Halls. He joined the Royal Air Force at the age of eighteen and spent the next two years entertaining troops in England and Germany. At the age of 22, he became the first recording artist under the wing of the now legendary "Beatles" recording manager, Sir George Martin, who produced many hit records for him over the next two years. He first appeared in, then hosted the two top music shows on British television, "6-5 Special" and "Thank Your Lucky Stars." He was invited to join BBC radio as a disc jockey, and for over a year hosted their number one program for children, "Saturday Morning Children's Requests" In 1966 he played the clown Autolycus in Shakespeare's, "The Winter's Tale" at the Edinburgh Festival. He returned in 1967 to play Bottom in "A Midsummer Nights Dream" and the title role in "Scapino" In 1970, at the request of Laurence Olivier, he joined The British National Theatre as a leading actor. Over the next two years he appeared in "Love’s Labour’s Lost", "The Merchant of Venice", "The National Health", "The Good Natured Man", "Sancho", "The Captain of Kopenick", and a two hander play with Anthony Hopkins, "The Architect and the Emperor of Assyria". At the Young Vic, he re-created the title role in "Scapino", which he co-adapted with Frank Dunlop, and played Petruchio in "The Taming of the Shrew". His other West End theatre credits include "The Burglar", "The Wayward Way", "The Card", "A Midsummer Nights Dream", "The Merchant of Venice", "A Winters' Tale", the part of Fagin in Cameron Mackintosh’s "Oliver!" at the London Palladium, and most recently, "Just Jim Dale" at the Vaudeville Theatre. All training materials and a MHFA manual are included. Participants may bring a brown bag lunch or eat out nearby during the lunch break. All participants who complete the training and short test receive a certificate that is valid for three years. All training materials are included. The course in free for participants from faith-based organizations. $50 for participants from non-faith based organizations. Mental Health First Aid is a globally recognized, groundbreaking public education program. It introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health issues, builds an understanding of their impact, and provides an overview of common treatments and interventions. The 8-hour course uses role-playing, videos, discussions, and games to illuminate the material and equip participants to assess a mental health crisis, select interventions, provide initial help, and connect neighbors to professional, peer, social, and self-help care. The course facilitators walk participants through the risk factors and warning signs of specific conditions and crises such as: anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and substance use issues. Founded in 2010, the Independent Art Fair is an art fair dedicated to providing meaningful art experiences for contemporary art lovers. Its sister fair, Independent 20th Century, which will be launched in 2022, will focus on important artists and international avant-garde art movements between 1900 and 2000.

GRIMM presents a solo exhibition of new paintings by British artist Louise Giovanelli. This is the Manchester-based artist’s fifth solo exhibition at GRIMM and her fourth at the New York gallery. Metrograph showcases a selection of films curated by the artist to accompany the exhibition. Giovanelli's delicate, luminous works inject vitality into historical subjects from the canon of Western art. Through interconnected series, she weaves together visual clues surrounding a specific moment or event. Her subject matter is primarily chosen for its formal qualities and includes, staged photographs, film stills, classical sculpture, and architectural elements. Within each series, Giovanelli repeats her motifs and certain paintings appear nearly identical, excepting slight alterations of the composition, or tonality.

In a past life, the historic Bonding Warehouse played host to household names from Jo Brand to Lee Evans. Today, with a revamp from Patch, it’s ready to bring the laughter back. Japan Night Reception & Concert Celebrating Japan Parade Presented by ASP Group Japan Day Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in New York City that organizes the Japan Parade & Street Fair , a cultural event celebrating Japanese culture held annually on the Upper West Side. The 4th Japan Parade & Street Fair will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, on the Upper West Side. Japan Day Inc,’s new event, Japan Night Reception & Concert , a new event this year, will take place the night before the Japan Parade on Friday, May 9 at the Edison Ballroom (240 W. 47th Street). The creation of Japan Night allows more artists, creatives, performers, organizations, and companies to showcase their expressions of modern and traditional Japanese culture. The evening will begin with a reception at 5:30pm followed by the concert at 7:00pm. The Concert will open with a performance from the cast of the musical adaptation of the popular manga, ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical. MIYABI Koto Shamisen Ensemble , led by a renowned Japanese koto player, Masayo Ishigure , will perform with this traditional instrument. There will also be a visual presentation of traditional Japanese crafts presented by the title sponsor of the event, ASP Group . The event will close with a live performance by Sayaka Yamamoto , singer-songwriter and former captain of the popular group NMB48 . Prior to the concert, guests will first enjoy traditional Japanese sake brewing and craftsmanship including MIO Sparkling Sake by Takara Sake USA Inc. and passed hors d’oeuvres at a tasting event. Beer and wine will also be served. She joined the J-pop idol group NMB48 in 2010, and after graduating, she pursued a career as a singer-songwriter. She is engaged in various activities including releasing songs, holding live performances, and media appearances, most recently successfully holding her Asia Tour in 2024. Her activities as a solo artist and musician have garnered both domestic and international attention. On December 25th of last year, she released her first EP, U TA CARTE . APOLLO AMATEUR NIGHT , held at the legendary Apollo Theatre in New York City, known as the gateway talent show to making it big in the entertainment industry with over 90 years of history and counting, was held in Japan as the APOLLO AMATEUR NIGHT JAPAN 24-25 . She served as a Main Ambassador and Emcee and played a role in strengthening ties between the music communities of Japan and New York. Masayo Ishigure Masayo Ishigure began playing the koto and jiuta shamisen at the age of five. Ms. Ishigure moved to the U.S. in 1992 and performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and other venues. She has had numerous guest appearances with multiple Symphony Orchestras around the U.S. and has performed concerts in various countries around the world. In 2005, she participated in the recording of the soundtrack for the Academy Award-winning film Memoirs of a Geisha with John Williams, Itzhak Perlman, Yo-Yo Ma, and others. In 2016, the Consul General of Japan in New York honored Ms. Ishigure with the Consul General’s Commendation.
