The Columbia Tango Marathon 2023, presented by Dragon Productions, is an event that tango enthusiasts won't want to miss. Taking place from September 1st to September 4th in West Columbia, the marathon promises a weekend filled with captivating tango music and dancing.
The event kicks off on Friday, September 1st, with DJ Ken Broom spinning the tunes at Esmeralda Dance Studio from 9pm to 2am. On Saturday, September 2nd, the music continues with DJ Ken Broom playing alternative and traditional tango from 2pm to 6pm, followed by a break from 6pm to 9pm, and then DJ David Chester takes the stage from 9pm to 2am, accompanied by live music.
Sunday, September 3rd, features DJ Karen Jaffe playing traditional and alternative tango from 2pm to 6pm, followed by another break from 6pm to 9pm. The night concludes with DJ Koichiro Suzuki spinning the tunes from 9pm to 2am. On Monday, September 4th, DJ Javier Sanchez wraps up the event from 2pm to 6pm.
The venue for this incredible tango marathon is The Barn, a unique ballroom with a spacious hardwood floor that provides the perfect setting for dancers to showcase their skills. To ensure the smooth operation of the event, we are seeking dedicated individuals to serve as course monitors and water stop volunteers. Course monitors will play a crucial role in directing runners along the designated route, while water stop volunteers will be responsible for keeping participants hydrated throughout the race. We kindly ask that all water cups and bottles remain filled with water for the duration of the event. Feel free to distribute water to runners as they pass by.
